Don't get the Oberhype, he's not been setting the world alight, you just like to see some fresh meat, I'd like to see Tosic given a chance though.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that giggs' best appearances this season have come as a substitute? I'd start with nani on the left today. Giggs off the bench around the 70 min mark to make an impact if needed.

I agree, but probably for only the last month and a half or so.

I think he's better suited these days as an impact substitute. Let him come off the bench if we're in need of some spark and creativity.
 
Not a fan of that line up. Should be alright though.
 
It all depends how attacking the other 2 in the 3 are.

He struggles to get into the box and cause real danger sometimes.

I suppose when you think about it, a midfield of Fletcher, Carrick and Scholes should easily overrun Pompeys midfield, I don't even know who their players are anymore. Kevin Prince Boateng thats one of them isn't it? He's average.
 
Put in the same kind of performance as we did against Chelsea and we'll stuff them. Not concerned with Rooney being the lone striker.

owen and berba both make the bench but neither fit enough to start .. disappointing .

is kanu starting for them.. he is ridiculously slow .. watching him run with the ball is hilarious .. decent close control , draws fouls .. but still.. its a sight
 
Are we sure that this is a 433, and not some unorthodox formation with fletcher on the right (like against Tottenham) and Valencia on the left, with Giggs in behind Rooney?

In fairness even typing that it sounded stupid to me.

Portsmouth is a place where we find it notoriously hard to pick up a result though, so that might explain the cautious approach.
 
Berba is my ff captain..he'll need to score a brave in the final 30 minutes

to be a sub used later on with Nani starting
 
think we should win but the formation spells for a tense and cautious affair.

the way Rooney is playing at the minute I wouldnt expect too much from him.

expect Scholes to get one

That's the thing though, against the big sides that formation and lineup would be just fine and more. But against the likes of Portsmouth, expect a frustrating game where we have lots of the ball, but can't go through with them sitting inside their own half most of the game.
