No teams have chances galore like today or Stoke every game.
Difference from last few years is we seem able to play our way through teams more frequent, so that's a positive to build on.

I'm not saying it's all negative.

We play much better football than we have in the last 3 years but our finishing is diabolical at times.

Listen, it wasn't Clattenburg's fault we couldn't score and get the win we deserved, for that the players can only blame themselves. But all the big decisions went Burnley's way, which is the salt in the wound for a lot of us.

He didnt have the benefit of video replays like the rest of us do.

The rest? Rojo, Depay, Darmian, Ibrahimovic etc haven't the mentality

Rooney wasn't in the starting line up today which was the question asked. Pogba and Lingard were reserve team players trying to get minutes in the first team and Rashford was 15 years old.

That leaves DDG from the starting 11 that was an actual SAF first team player(played regularly for him). He has made 1 or 2 mistakes this season but has by far been the best player at the club over the last 3 seasons.
Nothing to blame SAF for here.

Yeah. Agree with all of that. We've an uphill battle ahead but at least we're good to watch. That makes such a difference to how I see this team. Being outside the title race I can handle. For a season or two more anyway. Being bad to watch was unbearable.

I don't know how Zlatan missed that last chance he had. Mourinho likes to say he doesn't blame his players for missing chances, but when you've missed as many chances as Zlatan has this season, it's probably time to do something. We'd be a lot closer to the top of the league if he'd converted his chances like a supposed top striker should.

I was all for Mourinho prior to the season starting and was certainly behind all the players he's brought in, but the fact is it isn't working and he needs to fix it, fast. He's paid to make big and difficult decisions and he has some to make, any further delay and we're destined for yet another season of mediocrity - 4 on the bounce.

I'm sick of watching the scousers and city batter teams while we stutter on and to retain any hope of a reasonable season, Jose has to up it, immediately.

I don't get the comments talking about crisis - under VG we played boring fotball and had like 1 or 2 shots on target. Today we were as dominant as I can remember and it was v bad finishing combined with Heaton & bad luck.

Two absolutely sensational performances from goalkeepers in the Stoke and Burnley games have cost us 4 points. You can't underestimate the size of the task that was handed to Mourinho. There are myriad of reasons why we find ourselves in such a position.

Mourinho can't legislate for the finishing today. That responsibly falls on the players. He also can't account for Zlatan enduring such a torrid spell in front of goal - because it's never damn well happened.

His work lies in the mentality of the team. And wow does he have some work to do on that front. Work that cannot be undertaken in a few months. It takes times.

I for one am glad Mourinho is here. And I am encouraged by the steps he and the club are taking as a whole.

Patience is a virtue. Mourinho will lead us back into the Champions League. And whilst we're a long way off, I'd be stunned if he doesn't take us to a European final. Mainly because I don't see him leaving until he does so.

I'm 100% behind Jose, as I said in my original post, he was and still is the right person in my view.

However, he's got to make some changes and deal with some major issues in the team otherwise the season will be another write-off. Some of our best and most creative players can't even get on the bench yet we've others there who are Championship players and are no where near the standard to achieve top 4.

If today was an isolated incident, 2 dropped points at home against a team likely to be relegated, then it would be less of a concern. Unfortunately it isn't a one-off, we have 15 points out of a possible 30.

From where we sit today, both in the table and how we're playing, it'd take a miracle for us to make top 4, never mind challenge for the league, which as far as I'm concerned is unacceptable hence my point about big decisions for Jose and making them quickly.

He mentioned how we could park the bus against most teams,but also added that the challenge was when we faced similar tactics ourselves. We really struggle to break down teams and I don't think it's merely down to bad luck.
