Played much better. Enjoyed the game and looked like we are capable of playing at this tempo. Unfortunate not to get at least 1 penalty but still positives to be taken away from that performance. Rooney should have buried that chance at the end.

As we've seen in so many games, the first 20 minutes we look superb. Then we go back to shit.

Chelsea were so poor but had the two best chances of the game (Terry header and Matic one on one).

Clearly playing to different instructions this match. Far less sideways passing, more forward passes and forward runs, made for a different game. Missed the chance to bring Swchein off for Fellaini, or maybe Pereira, moving Martial in the middle too.

Most surprising thing was that a team battling relegation did not go for the win at all. To top it off, they are the defending champions.

For us, there was visible improvement in our tempo and passing. We were much more direct, pressed with a higher intensity and moved the ball ahead quicker. The players (including Rooney) were up for this one but we do not have a finisher in the box. Rooney is done as a top striker in the PL.

Think Chelski was disappointing as they played so deep and tried counterattacking. Understandable though lacking Costa. I think we played better partly because we had a lot of space. Let's see what happens next time we get pressed again then perhaps we can pass verdict.

Rooney. Wow. I don't like the guy for extorting contracts out of us twice but starting to feel sorry for the guy. He is being shown up badly and there seems to be no escape for him.

The first half was the best we have played in 2 months but we faded in the second and we needed De Gea to make a couple of big saves. Chelsea gave arguably the worst performance I have seen us face this season.

It's another 2 points dropped and the 2nd and 2rd substitutions were again really strange, LvG removed the Martial/Ivanovic match-up were getting so much success from in order to put Memphis on, just bizarre..

And all he did was to run the ball into touch.

I get to watch my son's U-7s do that...for free!

Schweinsteiger was shit today, think we need to get a new centre mid and just use Schweini sparingly.

New centre mid, new centre back, new striker and new winger please. Oh, and new manager.

Much improved, but still well short. We won't be given that much space by other teams though.

Nice to see our fullbacks given freedom, but we just don't have the quality up front. Mata went missing again also. Corners and crosses in general let us down also.

This squad isn't good enough, no matter who is in charge.

Should've scored in the opening 20, and we should have had a few penalties, but you could say they created better chances anyway throughout the game the few times they got forward. The second half was as boring as usual... We just need to change something, and that's the manager I think.

Personally, I didn't think we played great overall. Given the extremely low level Chelsea is playing at, the general lack of ambition they showed to try to win the match, and the fact that we were playing at home, it still was far from good enough. It's not the first time we started brightly, only to fail to score and then fade badly. The options off the bench were limited, but our substitutions didn't suggest a Manager who was doing everything possible to score a goal to win the game. There is talent in the squad, but yet again Van Gaal has failed to maximize it. Frustrating!

100% agree.. all huff and puff .. against a team in trouble .. not good enough. . Adios LVG you time is up

Tell me that's tongue in cheek?

I think it was a damn shame Young wasn't even given five minutes to run at Ivanovic.

We won't come up against a worse Chelsea team in years, and they should've scored a couple themselves. Better performance but overall its still nowhere near good enough.

I can't help but feel that if we had Depay on form and we were posing a threat on both flanks we would be ripping teams apart at times.

I am so depressed that nothing seems to be falling for us right now, hitting the woodwork twice today (once against City too), missing incredible chances and not getting clear cut penalties. The confidence is shot and when so many things go against you it becomes really hard to get yourself up again.

The one thing that I loved today was the determination we showed today to win 50-50's, if players give it their all on the field then I don't think we can complain much.

We played well and managed to get a point....which was the worst possible outcome. It means LVG will keep his job and we won't be able to quickly revive our season with a new manager. The point today could cost us 4th place.

Once again there was little movement up front, Mata was poor and Rooney's availability continues to act as an obstacle to us evolving our attack and as a team tactically - we also look open to every counter attack from the opposition

But we stopped the rot which I suppose is the main positive

0-0 enough said. 8 games without a win. Yeah we started well but failed again to beat the GK. Didn't make him work that much either.

Fixed

No idea wtf he was doing when Matic went clear through on goal.
Was that his fault? Didn't really see what happened, just saw Matic steaming through on goal and then making a tit of himself.

Shocking how different this chelski side is compared to last season. Same players but I have never seen a more incompetent and poor chelski team in the last 10 years or so. Really surprising how easily we dominated them.

Having said that, it was more of the same shite from us. We had a little bit more urgency and created a few more chances. Whether that was because chelski actually came out to attack us or because we were under pressure, who knows. Regardless, the result was the same. Yet another goalless game and LVG has no idea how to fix this.

Rooney is absolutely rubbish up top on his own. He has lost it. He needs a partner or we need to ship him out. Im just shocked we haven't gone to a 4-4-2 or some similar variation by now. We haven't won in I don't know how many matches. Yet we still consistently play the same rubbish every week. That's grounds in itself to fire LVG.

At the moment, with Mourinho available and seemingly relishing the chance to take over so how could we not make the move? Are we going to risk losing out on ALL the top managers yet again? This is the chance we have been waiting for. 3 years almost. Pep and Mourinho are available and we must do everything in our power to get them.

This team is in real danger of falling out the top 4. If LVG had a heart he would resign on his own accord. Especially before the January transfer window. This will allow the new manager (or interim manager Ryan Giggs, if Pep comes in the summer) to spend the money.

We looked better, particularly in the first half, but at the end of the day we still only managed a draw at home to a Chelsea side that has been struggling far worse than us. If the two-match ultimatum really existed, I really don't think a point out of six is enough for LvG to keep his job.

so our goal keeper had to make one save, is it really that big a negative?

more a way of pointing out Chelsea had very good opportunities too, despite their lack of ambition

I thought a draw was fair overall, I'm afraid, might be slightly wrong on balance of play but we created not a lot to win with, if you ignore the two pens we ought to have had

Don't think Van Gaal deserves any criticism today. Players we have at the moment just aren't really good enough.

Whoever the manager is we need to be looking for more attacking options in January.

Well he had only 250m and 3 transfer windows to fix it. There is a Leverkusen player who has scored more goals than Rooney, Martial and Depay combined.

Yep, LVG deserves no blame.

Tell me that's tongue in cheek?

We played at a much higher tempo in the first half. I think we need another game to see if this was an aberration? Whether LVG goes or stays, we will do much better if we pass like we did in the opening 30 minutes.

However he did move Martial over when he was toying with Ivanovic for Memphis, who looked short of confidence from the off. If he'd put on on the right, I could see it but...

I think the deal was to fire him, if he loses both. But he failed to lose both, so I guess he gets to stay.
He needs to lose more games to get the sack.

That pretty much confirms that there is some sort of media agenda.
I think after the Summer tournament, he'll be vilified by the press and told to retire.
First they'll act shocked how the white Pele is actually shit and denied the hopes of England to pass the group stage, then they'll start a witch hunt against him, to only decide that he is actually in the level with Ronaldo and Messi just a few months later.

We have been there before, I doubt that anything will change!
