Good first half. Okaka and Doucoure dominating the central areas. Okaka really puts himself about, for forward player he drops into the middle a lot. Playing almost as a false nine.
It does look iffy but 'dems da rules'.
Looks to me like Liverpool's biggest problem this match isn't defence, but rahter their midfield. Little control, basically no patience at all, always trying Hollywood through balls toward Salah and Mane from deep, which mostly just end up turning position over to Watford.
If your basing that on today's performance, I'm extremely grateful that you are in no way involved in our transfer activity.
It´s a BS rule, but I don´t understand why teams don´t exploit it more often. I´d just have my striker stand on the penalty spot the whole game, and work the "new phase of play"-rule all day long.Once the 2nd guy has the ball it's a new phase of play, he's onside, and can score fairly.
I wish we had signed Mane instead of Mkhitaryan.
I don't think Watford have really been maintaining an artificially high level. I'd say this is probably about their norm. Liverpool are well below their norm, though.Mane aside, Liverpool look awful, but no way Watford are gonna maintain this level. Fully except Liverpool to step it up now and grab a win.
I now think we're watching different games. Obviously Watford aren't the best team in the league, but they've been intricate in their passing and build up, disciplined in their positioning, and competitive across the park. What more do you want from them?
Yep. Maybe we were wrong.Funny when there were stories about getting Mane during LvG, majority were against it.
It's down to the way you set it up. I agree with what Carragher was just saying, Liverpool push up way too much and you always leave your centre backs exposed.unfortunately just VVD will not fix our defensive issues.
But you still need the winger to get to the byline and get the ball in, and when they do get there the opposition are naturally falling back anywayIt´s a BS rule, but I don´t understand why teams don´t exploit it more often. Marco Silva is doing a good job in his EPL career so far it seems.
It´s quality in midfield and defense, but it´s also attacking patterns. Gundogan said Dortmund never practised attacking patterns and it tells with Liverpool. There are no developed movements, no incorporation of the fullbacks at all. Their whole attacking plan is to win the ball high up the pitch, when the opposing team is disorganised/undermanned and then finish quickly in the spaces. They are completely clueless how to break down deep-sitting teams and when your two best playmakers are missing with Coutinho and Lallana it only gets worse. I bet they´ll do well against the top teams again. Unfortunately it does not look like Klopp has a Plan B.

Yeah, it's definitely something that can be exploited.

I could swear there are dozens and dozens of more knowledgeable caftards on football than RedknappJamie is just like any other football fan, like us he knows feck all about it. Buy this or that one, thats how you fix issue where you place players wrongly in zonal marking to defend corners.
Weird comment. Mane is Liverpool's most threatening player.
