I'm not sure watching a bit of football is worth turning a blind eye to such an enormous corrupt death trap.
Like I said though, you see this in all facets of life, this isnt about football, its about how things that used to be brushed under the carpet in the 70s are now being exposed. Like all the shit with institutionalised pedophilia.I'm not saying is wrong to highlight it, I'm just saying this episode shows the hypocrisy of western countries and specially the hypocrisy of british press as always. I'm glad we are seeing now how dirty and corrupt this whole organization is, it has always been, but is funny how it took almost a century to the big clean guys to notice it.

Bang on.Like I said though, you see this in all facets of life, this isnt about football, its about how things that used to be brushed under the carpet in the 70s are now being exposed. Like all the shit with institutionalised pedophilia.
The Fifa Appeals Committee he will be appealing to is appointed by the Fifa Executive Committee – that’s the same Executive Committee which serious allegations have be levelled against in the bidding process. Sure to be impartial then.
Dont keep trying to pass this off as some sort of racism or hypocrisy. As @Adebasi said, we now live in an information age where these sorts of issues can be brought to light much quicker and to a wider audience, and general "global awareness" amongst your average Joe is a lot higher. In 1974 if you asked some bloke on the streets what the working conditions were like in Argentina, do you think he would really have a clue? Information is now far more widely accessible and this is why there is a much bigger fuss being made now than 40 years ago.
Kafkaesque. The Guardian warns not to get your hopes up about this appeal either:
I know, I get your point and I totally share your vision and I also see how we live in a new era where things are more obvious. Now, this also makes more obvious the hypocrisy and double standars of the big media and clears our vision of where they stand, the kind of reaction british media is having towards the Qatard bid is something we never saw from them in relation to other cases of corruption.

More bad news for FIFA - CNN reporting that FBI stepping up efforts in investigation into corruption of FIFA leaders. Story coming soon
Qatar is a corrupt country and is a disgrace that they are going to host the World Cup after all the corruption acusations we have seen, this is another chapter that show football is the most dirty sport of them all.
Now, there's something funny about the reaction of british press to the whole episode and I find there's a little bit of racism and hypocrisy behind their energetic approach to the issue. The world cup has been hosted by corrupt and totalitarian nations in the past, no one argued when Argentina hosted the world cup in 78 under Videla, while people of argentine where suffering all kinds of tortures and opression. No one argued that the two most corrupt and violent countries of the past century hosted the world cup in 66 and 94 respectively.
The world cup is in esence a corrupt tourtnament hosted by one of the most dirty corporations in the world, the problem this time is that will be hosted by arabs, by the new rich, The problem is not corruption and lack of footballing culture, the problem is that the world cup will not be hosted by us the big boys but by these arabs who just got in the game.
Cycling says hello!
In fairness, its not about England not getting it, just that there is no rational way of explaining how Qatar with its searing heat was the overwhelming winner of the votes.
Is there anyway the FAs from the main football countries can pull together, stick two fingers up to Blatter and organise a separate tournament? This whole bidding process along with FIFA is corrupt and a complete sham. That, along with the human rights issues (and did I see 1200 deaths so far?) makes this whole thing not only absurd but tragic as well.
(stuff)
True, but lets consider that the 2022 was not even the World Cup that England was bidding for, so the fuss being kicked up over it cannot be described as self-serving.
The decision to award Russia the 2018 WC in itself was questionable - if the English media/FA were just being sour grapes then it would be that decision we would be contesting so hotly rather than the Qatar one.
I have no love for the media in this country, they are just trying to sell as many papers/clicks as possible, and so if a topic as popular as Football comes up they are always going to draw attention to it.
One day won't be enough and you know it!
FBI involvement....shit is getting ready to hit the fan. I think they should make it a public holiday the day that FIFA finally get done.
One day won't be enough and you know it!
And the Russia bid was just as corrupt but it receives less attention than Qatar as it is at least plausible as a venue.
Can you imagine though? It would be like Christmas II. The day the footballing world freed itself of Blatter.
How about "feck off FIFA" day; FOFIFA, has a nice ring to it.

I see what you mean but you do realise that Blatter is only the tip of the iceberg, almost everyone is corrupted, incompetent or totally dumb in football. when we will get rid of Blatter and his minions, we will have to deal with thousands individuals like them or worse.
There is no hope.
Pointing out the unsuitable climate and Human Rights issues in Qatar and the general conduct of Fifa doesn't make the British press hypocrites or racists. Certain reporters have been banging on about Blatter and his corrupt boys club for years, which is partly the reason why Blatter barely hides his contempt for the British press and the FA.
I imagine (maybe naievely) that if/when Blatter does get ousted, that the world/FAs etc will force FIFA to overhaul itself completely. Most of the top executives should be made to resign out of principle, and some sort of independant authority set up which FIFA has to answer to directly.
They cannot let Blatter just become the fall guy for it all, say "yup, that Sepp guy he was corrupt, get rid of him and we can all carry on" - it is unfathomable that FIFA would be allowed to continue, business as usual, just with a different equally corrupt beaurocrat (Platini?) at the top of the chain.
I can imagine the FBI knocking on FIFAs door, going something like this;
I know, I get your point and I totally share your vision and I also see how we live in a new era where things are more obvious. Now, this also makes more obvious the hypocrisy and double standars of the big media and clears our vision of where they stand, the kind of reaction british media is having towards the Qatard bid is something we never saw from them in relation to other cases of corruption.
Not sure why you are peddling this moral relativism/hypocrisy line - it's like listening to Russia Today...
But the FAs officials are also corrupt, well at least the FFF is corrupt, the french ligue is corrupt, most African, European, Asian, Carribean and American leagues and federations are corrupt.
Blatter or the Fifa members aren't the problem in particular, everyone is involved.
I see what you mean but you do realise that Blatter is only the tip of the iceberg, almost everyone is corrupted, incompetent or totally dumb in football. when we will get rid of Blatter and his minions, we will have to deal with thousands individuals like them or worse.

...or Blatter.
But you have to have a sneaking admiration for sheer chutzpah of the old rogue - a bit like Silvio.
Fs, just give it to Australia. Life's too short for this nonsense.
For years is since England did not won the 2018 world cup win. England is not longer part of the big club, the arab rich are now part and there is a subtle racism there becuase the media and people involved with football in england can't stand that fact. It took Qatar to host the World Cup to the british media and the FA to understand the FIFA is corrupt, that's something I can not understand.
What do you think would be the reaction of the british press and the FA regarding corruption allegations in Qatar if England would have won the 2018 bid?
