Liverpool fans could easily have been turned. If you look at the ones on this site, they were all fine with giving him a chance, but they knew that it was more likely he would fail. If Hodgson took over United, I doubt he'd receive much more support from your fans than from Liverpool fans.
So say he gets fired in January. That would mean Liverpool would have paid out about 10m in compensation in less than a year, provided they pay in one lump sum each time. No wonder they could have money problems.
