Are you serious? Park left wing fletch right and Smith centre mid would work better. Saha wouldn't work on the left wing imo.

Kuszczak

Neville Silvestre Brown Hienze

Park Fletcher Smith Richardson

Solksjaer Rooney

Subs: VDS Vidic Scholes Ronaldo Saha

That gives us cover everywhere:

GK: VDS
RB: Brown
CB: Vidic, Heinze
LB: Silvestre
RM: Ronaldo
CM: Scholes, Park
LM: Ronaldo, Park
CF: Saha, Smith

Going with a penalties win 1-1 in normal time 2-2 by the end of ET. 4-3 with 1 left for us on penners

Rest Scholes, he doesn`t need another card. Start with Saha and Ole on top, Rooney on the bench. Heinze deserves a match.

I have a strong concern that we are going to lose this one. Think it just comes at the wrong time for us. Liverpool and Lille matchs are more important so this is the game we'll probably rest a lot.

PIG
Brown Ferdinand Silvestre O'Shea
Park Carrick Fletcher Richardson
Saha Solkskjaer

This is roughly the team I expect to play... not sure we'll win. I think once we see the line-up we'll know what kind of mentality or how serious Sir Alex takes this match.

I see SAF resting a few senior (literally) players. The likes of Neville, Giggs, and Scholes will probably sit out, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney and/or Ronaldo start on the bench only to be brought on late if necessary.

I'd rather see Brown in central defense than Silvestre. Is Danny Simpson back out on loan? Wouldn't mind seeing him get a first team shot.

The next 10 days will have a huge impact on our season - we cant risk putting out a first team (or even close to) and jeopardise the EPL and CL - its gotta be a case of using 5-6 squad players, 2-3 fringe first teamers and 2 first teamers - play it tight and try and craft a win. If necessary have quite a strong bench so if were drawing with 15-20 mins to go we can throw on a couple of extra first teamers and hopefully get the win. We REALLY dont need to be going into extra time.....

It might be as they say in chess..... pawn sacrifice...

He may be rested because we have a far more important game against the 'pool coming up. He did play a full 90 mins against fulham so I would not play him, he may suffer from burnout come the 'pool and lille games.

He's 22 not 32 he can easily play 3 games in 7 days

Liverpool, Bolton and Lille are too important to risk fecking up for the FA Cup.

We're not strong enough to win the treble this year, if the squad players can't do it, so be it.

IF our second stringers beat Reading....I would bet on the treble...think that would be the omen...with what happened in the Fulham match that suggests this would be our year....

If United's reserves wound up delivering a win tomorrow, would it draw the praise given to Arsenal's "youth" side?

No. If he was a defender or a keeper what u said would be true. But with Ronnie being an extremely quick winger he can't give 100% for 3 games in 7 days. Especially if the third of the 3 games could potentially decide the title.

Guessing formations is an utterly pointless and hightly cretinious thing to do.

So is posting in a thread you find pointless and highly cretinious.

Koo-shack
GNev Brown Silvestre Heinze
Fletcher Carrick O'Shea Park
Saha Solskjaer

We'll probably make life difficult for ourselves but it's important we go into Liverpool and Lille with no injuries so we have to take a few chances

completely agree, Ronaldo shouldn't start, maybe 20-25 minutes should be alright, which means if we are tied late in the match, Ronnie should really be rested until extra time

I worry about Rio as well, as he will have his hands full on Sat.

looks to me like Richie will get a go today

I think Rooney will play since he missed the last cup tie due to suspension. Neville, Evra, Giggs, Scholes, Larsson, VDS and Vidic to be rested for the Liverpool match.

2-1 United, hope it doesn't go to extra-time/penalties.

with Liverpool coming up, Id throw on a complete second team... they'd all be well up for it too, to prove to SAF that they deserve to play more over the run-in

------------------------PIG---------------------

O'Shea-----Brown------------Heinze-----Silvestre

Park--------Fletcher--------Carrick-----Richardson

----------Saha---------Solskjaer/Dong-----------

Saha because he needs games to get back into form. Carrick *** hes been woeful the last couple of games and needs to set things right and build his confidence back

also wouldnt mind seeing Smith feature

no one is understimating them Bob...we have to prioritise....the title and CL must come first...

I get that there is a need to prioritise, I just don't like the tone... Only good thing is that Lita doesn't look to be as sharp as he has been. While Sidwell has picked up his game.

I'd like to second the vote for Brown over Silvestre. It would make a world of difference if Vidic were in.

I know the defence looks strange but we cannot afford to risk our first teamers because of the Liverpool and the Champions league matches coming up.

A win with a clean sheet ,no contraversy & no excuses please .

Why not have Sly and Brown in the middle and Sheasy at RB, Heinze at LB if you're playing those four?

That would also do but I would love to see Heinze in the centre of defence.

Think we may see that tonight .

Doubt it, it will either be:

Heinze Sly Rio Brown (<-- more likely)

or

Heinze Sly Brown O'Shea

When has Heinze ever played in CB for United??! Even
Fergie has been more inclined to play O'Shea there instead of Heinze when the opportunity arose.

Could be dangerous. I too would like to see heinze play there, but we all know how much he loves to slide tackle and he doesn't always get the ball. While that's all fine and dandy outside the box on the left back position it might be a a big risk when he is playing as centre half. I don't think he is tall enough to be a centre back in the premiership.

I honestly think we'll go through this one with ease.

Big game. Expect a near-to-full squad.

We couldn't even beat them at home! So how is it going to be easier to beat them on their own patch?
