Can't believe we won't play him regularly.
Can't believe we won't play him regularly.
That surely is our strongest lineup. As awesome as that will be, just wait till Moyes sticks in Young and Cleverley into that mix to mess it all up....
Rooney and Welbeck on the wings is not creative enough, you need a Nani in the side as he provides unpredictability. For me Janzuaj, Zaha and Nani... are our players who can do something unpredictable out wide.
Janzuaj, Kagawa, Nani behind RvP is a better shot, plenty of technical ability, flair/vision and interchangeability in terms of positions. Mix that up with Hernandez, Rooney, Welbeck, Zaha and you have some decent options there.
Agreed. But since when has the obvious choice been the one that Moyes has gone with?
Sigh I really hope he gets a chance here. It would be criminal if we don't give him a decent run of games. He's got so much more to offer than Young, Cleverley and even Welbeck..
I'm concerned he won't start against Crystal palace due to playing for Japan, and then you don't want to throw him his first start against City.
I can't believe Moyes start with Young and Giggs too, do you think manager will play what the majority of fans wants to?
Putting Kagawa on the wing and expect him to blossom there is just wishful thinking. Our system always emphasis on width, while he was more or less playing a free role in Japan when he start at the left. Playing left for Japan is completely different thing as playing left at United.
And no he is not fine at the left, last season he did ok only, all of his better games were in the middle. Dortmund manager even go as far as to openly criticize us when we play him on the left.
United are taken aback, for example, by the latest suggestion they challenged Arsenal for Mesut Ozil. The truth is that United and Manchester City were both offered the player three weeks ago. United turned it down because they had already made up their mind that Wayne Rooney would not be leaving and they did not want to break their transfer record, paying upwards of £40m, for someone who plays in the same position.
Their thinking also took into account they have Shinji Kagawa, among others, for the No10 role. Kagawa still features prominently in the thinking of David Moyes despite not even being on the bench against Liverpool on Sunday. His problem is two-fold: one, that he has had an exhausting summer with his national team and is being brought back slowly; two, that Moyes has not really seen him play or got to know him very well. He is not, however, being marginalised.
United rebuffed an approach from Atlético Madrid for the Japan international and would have done the same if Borussia Dortmund had been in touch. As it was, there has not been a single telephone call from the Bundesliga club, despite talking up a possible return.
If he doesnt work out this season for some reason or if Moyes doesnt trust him enough, then he should be used in a swap deal with Dortmund for Gundogan. £30-35m plus Kagawa for Gundogan.
Yea then when Gundogan comes he'll suffer the same fate as Kagawa? I think the top players in the world are a bit wary of joining United now...
Moyes will love him when he's finally up and running. He's far behind everybody else in terms of fitness and his frequent international games are not helping in him getting match fit for us.

it does not work. maybe we should play as below
robin
roon kagawa welback
fellani carrick
back four
That line up you posted is exactly what I'd like to see.Fail to see why it wouldn't work. If anything I'd say the alternative you posted is less likely to work given the lack of a real winger.
----- Van Persie
Kagawa Rooney Nani
With Kagawa and Rooney interchanging has real potential IMO. Especially now Fellaini will be able to provide an effective screen along with Carrick.

I do hope that moyes too feels the technical ability of kagawa and nani gives them the edge over Valencia and young. But then again, his Everton side were all about endeavour most of the time.

Well they'll all be fit for crystal palace so we will see. Moyes has struck me as a safe manager so far which I could see leading to him leaning towards other options. But it's so early still. It's so obvious I'm almost thinking there must be a huge glaring error that makes it non-workable hence why we've not seen it. Here's hoping the only reason is simply because that 4 has seldom been fit at the same time.
In terms of the endeavour, I agree. You'd hope that's simply cutting his cloth accordingly though and he'd have the ability to move away from that with better players.

I think he needs to play. Games are what he needs at this point and a home game vs crystal palace is the perfect opportunity to allow him to work his way back into the fold.So far I agree. But then maybe the huge games so early have dictated that.
I'd be surprised to see Kagawa play against Palace due to his international duties but by the same token it would be an ideal game for him.
Nani playing is important, he's the one winger who can bring some quality wing play and still cut inside when needed. Valencia always stretches things can get predictable, Young the same but with the cutting inside. Nani on a good form is the best mixture of the two.
I've said it for a long time as well - Nani/Zaha should be the first player on the team-sheet. Not because they are the best but because our lack of players who can penetrate a defense is disturbing. We look like a mid-table team in that regards when we field Young and Valencia.
Kagawa won't start more than 15 league games this season even if he's fit for all of them.
It's not a problem. Were overly obsessed with our attackers being "limited" so that they can cover our defenders asses. Look at barca when they were at their best. They defended as a unit. Messi isn't great defensively. Neither is Pedro. But they do a good job for the team. You don't need Ashely young or Valencia in your team to defend properly as a unit.In theory Kagawa and Nani out wide sounds great but for me we can only really have one of the
Playing in one of those slots due to the utter lack of width and cover for the fullbacks. Nani is alright at defending but he plays best when cutting inside. One of them plus Valencia seems the safest option for most games. Which is a problem for both Nani and Kagawa.
And nani provides plenty of width. The idea that we need a winger who simple refuses to hug the byline to provide us width is wrong. In theory Kagawa and Nani out wide sounds great but for me we can only really have one of the

That was under Ferguson who clearly rated him, at this point Giggs plays ahead of him and he doesn't get a cameo in a game that's calling for him (Chelsea) and isn't even on the bench the following week. That's a bold prediction.
Kagawa started 17 games last season, despite being injured for almost 1/3 of the games. That means that he started somewhere around 70% of the time when he was fit. That's not too shabby for being his first season for the best team in the PL.
I wish we could focus on our attacking strengths and play to them rather than stick on two wingers, based on their ability to defend...
I'm so tired of hearing we're playing Young and Valencia because they can defend better than Nani or Kagawa. If we're so worried about defending then we might as well stick on two additional sweepers to play behind rio and vidic for christ sake.
