Jesus, talk about gutless! There is no way that bunch of gutless players, who clearly aren't playing for the manager anymore, rise to the occasion and win the Cup.
I still think top 4 is a possibility though, our fixtures are disgusting in the run-in and we're gonna drop many points.
Wenger:
Did he actually say that?! The relationship between the club and the fans is getting worse and the arrogance of Wenger is not helping the matter at all.
This. If he actually wanted to leave, he'd have announced it as a way of getting the fans behind the team. There's no upside to delaying the news, he was leaving if that was the case. There's zero sense in not announcing he is leaving if he really was going to leave. And he said he decided what he was going to do even before the protesters came on. So I think he is staying.

Surely Liverpool are favourites with City for 3rd and 4th though? Arsenal are worse than us!Realist mate. I base my opinions on what I see and have seen. Arsenal have been bottling it and not playing for the manager. We have been dropping points left, right and centre.
Either you die a hero or you live long enough to become Arsene Wenger.

Agree. I just can't see them continuing this way.I think he leaves at the end of this season personally.
End of season speech:
I am Arsene. For years, I have given everything for the club. I think the time has come to make a decision. A difficult decision in the circumstances. So I have finally decided to go on for another year, because I am not a quitter"
We are not getting the top 4 and Wenger is stayingI think the situation at Arsenal is quite complicated.
If Arsenal out of top 4 and he (Wenger) is leaving, they are in trouble as it would be hard to recruit stars under the new manager, unless they are going to spend big in the transfer market which is unlikely to happen with the current owner. On the other hand if Arsenal remain in top 4, Wenger will see it as an achievement and he would never leave.
The best option for Arsenal is that they reach top 4 and Wenger leaves in the summer, so they can recruit a brand new manger, Allegri or Tuchel, who will upgrade the squad with some decent signings. That would be an exciting new life for them but unfortunately, not a big chance that is going to happen.
Edit: so many grammar errors, sorry![]()
'he's staying, lol'.

Is that you Josey? They surely must already know if he's staying, even if it's not being announced? The big clubs will already be preparing for next season in terms of transfer targets and the idea that you can bring in a new manager and get done what needs to be done in one summer is at best naïve.
I'd personally be shocked if he stays given the circumstances. If he does the board might as well just admit they're not interested in progressing the club and only in it for the money. I've said it on here before but he'd have been sacked anywhere else years ago. He's far too frightened to spend big money on players because then he's got no excuse for not winning the league or performing in Europe. Some like to criticise the top managers (particularly Mourinho it seems) for spending big but they're putting their necks on the block. They know that if it doesn't work then they'll be sacked.
Wenger specialises in failure - and worse, he tries to wrap it up as success. That feeds down to the players who are happy to finish 4th, pick up their wages and all have a nice time in training where they won't be criticised or dug out by the manager in public (or I suspect in private) - even if you're laughing at your own team getting embarrassed when you're sat on the bench.
The board have a big decision to make. A new manager will want £150 million n available year on year for big names. That's how modern football is.
He's at a huge club in a woeful league which they win every year without chellengers. Why would Allegri leave Juventus for Arsenal? He is managing a bigger club who have proved they are capable of challenging for the Champions League title - I could understand why he would go to a Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid or ourselves but there really is no compelling reason for him to make the switch to Arsenal. He was able to buy Higuain for almost a world record fee last summer - there is no way Arsenal would have spent that cash.

Plus they bought Higuain as they knew they would get 90 mill for Pogba no?
Allegri will stay put though. He has is good at Juventus.
Since I like Monaco and don't really like Arsenal it might sounds weird but I would like to see Jardim at Arsenal and Wenger at Monaco.
You think Wenger has enough left in him to be a success at Monaco?
2015 said:'Wenger to be handed massive warchest after season of underachievement'
2016 said:'Wenger to be handed another massive warchest after another season of underachievement'
2017 said:'Wenger to be handed even more massive warchest, coincidentally just before season-ticket renewals'
That literally happened to the mighty Jock Stein, so let's hope not. Wenger -as Fergie did- more likely fears the adverse effects of retirement on his health..I think the title should be changed to "Will Arsenal ever sack Wenger". He'll probably be the first manager to die still managing![]()
I'm not sure we need to recruit stars so much as keep the ones we have, recruit and develop better players that are not already stars, and have a manager with a clue tactically.
The ideal situation for Arsenal no matter where we finish would be the following.
-Let Wenger go by "mutual consent"
-Sign Jardim as manager
-Sign Monchi or Overmars as Director of Football
-Have the new DoF start the job of revamping our scouting and recruitment network
-Either get Jardim to convince Mbappe to make Arsenal his next move, sign Dolberg, or maybe Belotti. Basically, find a young CF to build around.
-Sign Sanchez to a new huge deal, convincing him to give the new regime a chance and maybe promising (a la Liverpool and Suarez) to sell him next summer if he is unhappy
-Sell Ozil for big money to PSG or somewhere else (love him as a player but I don't think he would be a great fit in a Jardim side)
-Sell the Wenger favorites who have been there too long (Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey, maybe Ox)
-Buy a good tactical central midfielder to complement Xhaka in the middle (Moutinho would not be a bad idea if Jardim came)
-Buy a few more interesting high-upside young players to start the further turnover of the squad
All this seems totally doable and realistic to me in theory. We'd have an interesting and frisky team, with a manager capable of developing young players and turning a team into more than the sum of its parts. Of course, it won't happen because our owners and board are completely spineless. But its not like there is no way in theory for Arsenal to get on a stronger course as a club. Its really just a problem of leadership.
