So we have Bayern

I'm just going to relax and enjoy this one. My expectations are very low concerning United's chances and it will only be next season, when those other top English clubs are busy on a tuesday/wednesday evening listening to the champions league music as they come out that the full impact of not being a part of it I will really hit home with most fans I think.

so...I reckon Moyes should throw caution to the wind and just go for it...nothing to lose really...and everything to gain.

Bring them on, I'm not scared of them. These are the exact games we enter the competition for.

Exactly and thanks to Moyes, we probably won't be able to enter the competition for the next 2 years. So may as well not fret and just enjoy the game.

Going to be interesting to say the least. Too bad Moyes has no faith in Kagawa because not too long ago he was involved in destroying Bayern.

Can't wait - I think we are going to put up one hell of a fight. I just hope Smalling/Evans are fit. If we play any of the old defenders we'll get raped.

Lets see the bright side of it. Bayern are not used to long ball football and aiming to the Fellaini's head strategy. Moyes may outwit Guardiola in the same way he outwitted SAF last season.

We only need more crosses and Fellaini to play in his 'natural role' as no 10

What is our worst ever aggregate defeat in European competition? You know how Dave likes his records.

Think we'll surprise a few.

Man Utd 0-5 Bayern

You pessimistic twits. Ad astra per asperaaaaaaa!

A comment in F365:

to be fair David's tactic in killing Goliath is similar to our Moyesy's tactic (long ball football).

I always thought that Moyesy would be a great shepherd. He's so old school and hardworking.

Even if bayern don't thump us 7-0 as they did against barca, it's still going to piss easy for them.

Maybe the club can take on board some of the ideas bayern have taken on board themselves. You should always try to learn from the best. We didn't learn from barca when they tore us at all.

It'll probably be like a 2-0 loss in the first leg, tie being over right then, and then like a 2-1 loss in the second game with bayern just seeing it out and us grabbing a consolation.

It is DAVID VS "Guardiola". The bible did tell us who win in the end.

Let's hope that David has the stones to do it.

Sorry.

No wife of the players should hang around on Moyesy's pool then.

God you're boring

5.2 odds on bwin . i think i never saw such high one for a home game

It's the taking part that counts.

We have a punchers chance, but its going to be 2 games where we see little of the ball.
Oh comeon. We're probably going to get thrashed. At least we can laugh about it.

What's funny about getting thrashed? I always imagine the supporters that just continually mock the situation we are in will be the first ones to lose interest in United if this all continues.

Looks like the worse possible draw for United especially with the return leg in Munich. However, nobody will expect us to win, all the pressure will be on Bayern, so United should be relaxed and at ease. If the crowd is anything like it was against Olympiakos, it should give the team a lift and if we have a good result against City, confidence should be at a season long high. Win at home, and with the way Bayern has ben playing at home in the Champions League, both City and Arsenal getting a result, it gives us a chance to advance. Not a good chance mind you but it's chance.

It'll be like the age-old cartoon sketch where the big guy has his palm on the little guys head, who's swinging his arms round trying to hit him.... except here, the big guy is using his finger, and the little guy is asleep.
