So we have Bayern

Lucky draw for Moyes. Everybody pretty much expects us to get our asses torn apart from them. Can't lose there.

This is going to be embarrassing. Our last Champions league game for as long as Moyes is here lads, lets savour it...
Amazing to compare how quickly and how far we have fallen from what we were. To being in a title challenge for the last 20 years to 7th place, 5 points off a Europa League spot

We have to hope that they respect us as a club and don't humiliate us too much. I think it'll be a 0-3 again.

Can we start with a 5-0 aggregate lead? We'd still probably get knocked out, but it would give us hope.

A chance for them to really put put to bed the memories from 99... :nervous:

I think when I see Guardiola at Old Trafford, it will be difficult to hold back the tears. What might have been.

0-5 in the first leg.

@ The Game no no a Bible is good. Seriously though if Moyes does not have at least 3 in the middle it could become slightly unhappy. Fletcher has to play alonside Carrick and one of Giggs or Afro man. I keep believing
Liverpool 2005 , Chelsea 2012 so u never know. Bibles it is then :)

I hope they have mercy on us, but the Germans are efficient, winning machines. They'll want to set a record aggregate score over two legs.

They absolutely destroyed Barcelona last year, I see no reason why they won't want to do the same to us.

At least we'll see some brilliant football. Shame we'll be on the wrong end of it.

What actually happens if we just don't turn up?
Moyes may as well apply the lube himself.
What's the record scoreline for a CL knockout game?
We are going to be the laughing stock of the world

:lol::lol::lol:

So Bayern are champions already and can completely focus on the CL and the DFB-Pokal. Which means they will most likely be able to rest their entire starting XI before they play us. That's just great as if they needed that advantage as well.

So what, we also have the league sorted, and have nothing but the Champions League to concentrate on.

As if resting our players would make a difference the way we play atm it's their first eleven being fully rested I'm affraid of because they will be capable of going full in for 90 minutes and we would even have problems if they only were at their best for 30 minutes.

What's worrying me actually is that even the team we're trying to aspire to got beaten pretty easily by this lot.

Moyes:

post-match Villa, 1-0 win: The boys played really well today, we fully deserved that win and it should give us a massive confidence boost for the Bayern game on tuesday.

Pre-match Bayern 1st leg: This is one of the best teams in the world, we are going to try our absolute best to make it hard for them.

Post match Bayern, 0-4 at home: I felt the boys put in a good shift, we didn't deserve to lose this game by this scoreline and hopefully we can have more luck on our side in Munich.
He loves saying boys by the way

Pre-match Bayern, 2nd leg after losing to Newcastle away: We feel confident about this game. We know it will be a hard one, but if we get a goal early there may be a chance we can get back into this tie.

Post match Bayern, 8-0 away, biggest defeat ever in CL history over two legs: I felt we were unlucky there, got a few wee decisions against us. The boys played well and didn't deserve this result.

That's my guess on how the next 2 weeks will pan out anyway.

What is their starting eleven  ? They have so many great players that it honestly doesn't make much of a difference whether they'd play their A or B team vs us. They can score score the exact number of goals they want in this match, it will just depend on their mood.

I actually think the first leg wont be so bad. The CL seems to be the only competition the players seem to truly care about based on their performances against Olympiakos so i think they'll put up a bit more fight against bayern. but if we concede early like we did against City, i'd expect a cricket score. basically the longer we keep bayern scoreless, the more confident i think we'll get.

my issue though is that whenever teams try and present bayern problems, pep is always looking for ways to find the next appropriate solution. moyes more or less just sits/stands still pondering what to do

Rooney on the right playing basically as a RB. Pack the midfield. Fellaini lone striker taking long balls on the chest to Rooney. Play pacey players for the counter. Pray.

I think there is such a gulf between Bayern and Olympiakos that putting up more of a fight would change little. Olympiakos missed some chances and DDG was amazing, he kept us in the tie. Bayern will have a big amount of possession, that alone will kill us.

i know lol. was trying to find a wee bit of optimism

Bayern have a much better team than us but (1) IF we play to our strenghts and (2) IF we are very lucky, we have a chance to beat them. Two big ifs indeed but it is not impossible to win the tie. Maybe we aren't (significantly) worse than Chelsea in 2012. They were extremely lucky though.

What is our strenght this season?

Taking the cock without complaining?
