“We’re convinced that we’re able to play a great game. We know that this is a difficult competition but also know that we are capable of downing the biggest clubs if we keep our heads and play our game. The rival tomorrow is just about as big as they get, but we have self-confidence”, stressed Paulo Bento.
The Leões (Lions) tactician was also adamant that although they may not be able to enjoy as much ball possession as they usually can count on at home, they will have to resist the temptation to just parry attacks. “We can’t afford to lay back and watch; we must always be intervening.”
“We know that we can’t expect to run the game throughout the full ninety minutes but we are fully aware that we can’t let Manchester do what they like during ninety minutes. We have to hit them, in the good sense of the word, and when they are hitting us we need to enjoy the defensive game with an eye for any counter-attacks.”

Its not that good a team.I know Moutinho,Djalo, are very good young players.Liedson and Veloso are decent.Other than that I dont think there is anybody we should really be worried about.I will be really surprised if we dont win this one even if it is away.
He is decent imo.Nothing to wank about.
Though I have seen him play only 3-4 times.

I really think Saha should start this one and Giggs should go back to playing on the left wing...Patrice will give him plenty of help if his legs tire with the running.
Aye Moutinho, Djalo and Veloso all looked decent at the U21 Euros...
Veloso and Moutinho are very much passers, very good passers, and Djalo is tiny but very skillful... We really should beat this team though. Our away record in Europe is poor but United should do the business.

he may have deserved to get sent off, but the ref was hardly irrelevant in that game. he made several poor decisions. i can think of a couple off the top of my head, both involving Rooney jumping for the ball against a defender, and penalised for basically doing that. Fandel is a fussy referee. might be a good trait for a pianist, but it isn't for a football referee.
