Stoke City vs. Manchester United

By the looks of it, it's going one of the following:

De Gea

Valencia - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra

Jones - Carrick

Rooney - van Persie - Kagawa

Hernandez

The second one looks more likely.

No Falcao?

Bale and Ronaldo out too.
I'd like to see Kagawa playing CM jsut to see if he can do the job, most likely we'll see him out wide though

I cannot see it at all. I see Rooney as a better CM than him. Especially against Stoke. I love Kagawa, but his defensive contribution to the team is nil.

Rooney left, Valencia right, Kagawa and Carrick central. RVP off Hernandez.

no Rafael, damm you Fergie. Fantasy footy team takes a hit!

Not surprising against the height of Stoke really. But it does mean that we'll have zero creativity down the right without Rafael and with Valencia playing.

Kagawa or Rooney centre mid or wing?

Valencia is confusing me, it won't be a 4-3-3 with him like the other players playing would suggest.

Edit as above suggests, Valencia right back and Jones alongside Carrick makes more sense. I'd much prefer the impotent Valencia there anyway.

Bit of a random team, looks unbalanced to me but that's a lot of firepower.

Rooney playing in the centre alongside Carrick, with Kagawa on the left, according to MUTV.

@BarclaysBible: Stoke team v Man Utd: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Wilkinson, Shotton, Whelan, Nzonzi, Adam, Walters, Jones. #scfc #mufc

Marvellous lack of creativity in that Stoke-side. Adam's left foot and that is about it....

Bench: Lindegaard, Evans, Giggs, Smalling, Welbeck, Cleverley, Buttner

Stoke going with strong players in the centre of midfield. Got respect for Walters though, he always gives you a good work.

Valencia right back and Jones midfield. Surely.....we can't play Kagawa in a midfield 2 against this lot.

I think it'll line up something like this:

de Gea
Valencia Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Jones
Carrick Kagawa
Rooney
Hernandez van Persie

Rafael must be injured if he's not even on the bench. Great, another injured defender..

And Nani not even on the bench either? He would have been a great option with Stoke's Wilkinson and Cameron.

No Nani in the squad is really rather disappointing. He was in good form before his injury, plays one poor game in his first match back in a tough fixture and then gets dropped for good.

Why can we never play with a balanced team? Why are we always playing players out of position when we have the players who can fill these positions available?

I don't see why not, they look to bypass the midfield anyway, if we keep the ball on the ground and moving fast he'd do well there.

Our bench doesnt look all that great tbh. Like the line-up though as long as Val starts as RB.

We do have a game midweek so we have to assume there'll be changes for Wednesday

I hope he goes in the summer.. So we don't have to go through this again next season. He's clearly the best winger we have.

Even with Giggs not starting and Young injured Nani can't get a start. Just can't see him staying at the club and that's really exasperating.

2 players possibly out of position and you're having a coronary over it?

MUFC; De Gea, Vidic, Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Kagawa, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez, van Persie.

No Rafael or Nani? Great team otherwise
Looks like a good team. Looks like rafael was left out for height reasons with Jones playing RB possibly? Unless he is playing CM and valencia is at RB

What's so funny? A blind man knows the front three interchange when United use that formation. I just placed Hernandez there for practical reasons.

It is funny. I know the formation won't be ridged with three strikers on the pitch but even SAF refers to Chicha as a penalty box player.

Looks a really unbalanced team. I'm a little more worried abou the game now than I was 5 minutes ago.
