Swansea City vs. Manchester United

Any chance we could batter them?? I know they have played some decent football recently, but surely if they come out and go at us we will tear them to shreds.

An early goal for us and i dont see why not. We'l have to be good in midfield though, cant let them dictate how the game goes for too long because the do have quite a few really talented players among their ranks who can make us pay. Allen, Sinclair, Dyer etc..

I think Park has retired from international football, lucky us!

Yeah, Park has retired. Along with Vidic, Berbatov, and Giggs from the players likely to be in our match day squad.

France didn't have an international, so Evra had a rest. Ferdinand and Rooney obviously didn't play, neither did Young or Carrick and Anderson didn't either. I also don't think Jonny Evans played an international but I might be wrong on this.

de Gea, Lindegaard, Nani, Jones, Fábio, Fletcher, Valencia, and Hernández are the players likely to play or make the bench that played internationals or at least travelled with the squad. I read that Welbeck wasn't in the travelling squad for Swansea, he got an injury with England but I haven't heard anything else about it. It could be precautionary or he could well be in the squad. Cleverley is obviously out for a while now.

If we wanted to go a bit OTT on resting players who played an international we could go: de Gea; Fábio, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Park, Carrick, Giggs/Anderson, Young; Rooney, Berbatov.. xD but I can see Jones, Fletcher, Nani, and Hernández playing regardless.

I agree. I love to see teams coming up and trying to play good football though and as much as I like to see us give teams a good beating, with these new teams coming up I'd rather see them making a good contest of it (with us winning of course).

I'm not being cocky here either BTW. There is always the chance of a slip up, but our lads should be refreshed and up for this. If we put a good string of results together between now and the next international break, hopefully we will be caught up with city.

Yep. Swansea away should be a must win game really. specially with us already being 5 points adrift of city. Quite a decent fixture list from now on as far as we're concerned, city on the other hand have pretty tough games, i'd be very surprised if they're 5 ahead in about 9-10 games.

Regarding the first bit, expect a really good contest tonight. swansea have played some really good football this season. great home record too. we'l have to be very good to get the 3 points. not going to be an easy game at all. football wise, should be a great display of attacking football. both teams love to play fluid attacking football.

Another 1-0, less then impressive performance if Rooney plays in midfield.

When we seemingly have Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher, Giggs, Park, and Jones fit I see no reason why Rooney will be playing in midfield today. He'll be in the hole or even a lone striker.

Yeah, I was going to watch this one online, but I think I'll head to the pub for The Real football Experience. ;)

Expecting a very hard game, hope for a scrappy 1:0.

Me too, our away form so far has looked better than last year, but personally i think the personnel and tactics will determine the type of game we get.

A 4-4-2 with clev and Ando in the middle will leave us open but holds great capacity for scoring goals. On the other hand i suspect we could continue the 4-3-3 that has seen us win our last 3 games without conceding. Not as dynamic a system but definitely more solid.

I know it's early but anyone any idea what the team is yet, and whether it's confirmed that Young and Clev are both back from injury?

Didn't Swansea completely dominate possesion at Anfield recently?

Wonder if Fergie goes with 5 in midfield....

That suggests 3 man midfield to me.

can't afford to drop point here and let city run away with it, simply have to win.

While we're waiting for line-ups. This made me chuckle.
