The Championship 2018/19 - Play-off final

No, we aren't allowed to laugh at any of our rivals. Only when we are winning trebles is it acceptable to revel in the downfall of others.

Anyone who so much as raised a smile during City's CL elimination last week is not a 'true' United fan.
Thanks.

I’ll remain perfectly still as Brentford slot in their third then.

Would be nice to see Sheffield United up. feck off Leeds.

Norwich essentially up and Sheffield United one win away as it stands due to their far superior goal differences.

If Sheffield United don't get the job done against Ipswich next weekend that would be ridiculous.

drew 2-2 away at Stoke.
If Leeds win, Norwich will be 3 points ahead of the playoffs
Honestly you two, imagine thinking Leeds could actually win a game...

Norwich 1 point away from promotion and no way Blades won't win next 2 games. I also think it is pretty likely that Leeds won't win the playoff due to the huge mental strain of missing out on automatic promotion. Brentford looked like the team chasing promotion in that game !

Now lets hope Villa win the playoffs with Axel and Chester doing their bit..

Really hope Sheff United's system works in the Prem. If so, they'll be a tricky team to play against next season and will likely pull off some big results

I was talking about his ability as a player Samid!!

Fair play for shrugging off the disappointment so easily. I know from experience that it can be tough.

Shite Leeds performance but thank feck it wasn’t a 4-0 thrashing

I can’t think of a more exciting league to watch as a neutral. It’s an absolute bloodbath most seasons.

@FootballHQ

Villa are like my second team this season. I’m desperate for you lot to get back in the PL.

Proper club, proper stadium, proper history. Sick of the shite like Cardiff and Burnley stinking out the Premier League over the years.

What’s happened to James Chester btw? Is he still club captain under Smith?

Chester was playing with an injury for two months and he's just had a really bad season generally. Missed John Terry's leadership and aerial ability. I'd actually like to see how he looks with Mings in our last two as that's the sort of CB partner he usually does well alongside but Axel has the shirt and we're pretty solid at the back compared to the opening few months when we were shipping so many goals.

I reckon we've got enough to get past WBA if we get our full 11 out (not sure if Tammy Abraham is going to be available for play offs) and a dream final would be Derby or Boro. We've beaten them by an aggregate of 13-1 this season.

Just got a bad feeling about Leeds. I know they've been nothing special lately but they play a manic pressing style we can sometimes struggle against. We couldn't get a foothold in the last final v Fulham for example and that happening again concerns me.

Good question. Bamford not good enough. Missed a couple of players for a while. Pressure getting to players. Blind ref’s.

Yeah he should have been subbed early on in the 2nd half, surely you have better options than him?

Leeds are bottle jobs mate, Villa are going up!

So are we tbh. Remember that season we were 8 clear of Arsenal in 4th in middle of February and still ended up 10 points behind in May. We also very rarely play well at the new Wembley.

I do wonder if Jack Clarke coming back could be a boost Leeds need, he ripped us apart second half in the game in December.

Well see. Leeds were dreadful last few games. Lots of pointless possession. No end product.

Villa have hit form at the right time.

Not sure we have...if Bamford finishes like he did a couple of games a go. He's the kind of player I don't like at number 9...too easily pushed of the ball and shy at taking shots.

We've had enough chances to score more than enough goals to put us top. If we'd been told we'd be in the play offs at the start of the season we'd have taken it...maybe top two is being a little greedy. I hate play offs though.
