The Fraizer Campbell Watch

See I am no Spurs expert/fan so why don't you tell me what you think Harry will put out tonight? are you insinuating that you guys can play a 4-5-1 with the players you have fit that have traveled? If so kindly show me how..
Spurs have taken many players from their U-18 team, who have been winning match after match this season:

Tottenham squad: Gomes, Jansson, Chimbonda, Dawson, Huddlestone, Gunter, Bale (but he's now fallen ill with a virus), Zokora, Jenas, Bentley, Giovani, Bent, Campbell, Mason, Townsend, Obika, C Butcher, Bostock, Parrett, Smith

At least one Spurs U-18 player will likely be starting from what I hear - midfielder Dean Parrett.

If so, and if we play 4-5-1 (and I'm not saying we will), then a likely team would be:

------------- Gomes -------
Gunter - Dawson - Huddlestone - Chimbonda
----------- Jenas - Zokora
Bentley --- Parrett --- Dos Santos
------------ Bent

So I don't think Campbell will start unless we play with two up front.

Well, and contrary to what I thought would happen, I believe Campbell is starting up front on his own tonight. Apparently HR is hoping to save Bent for Monday night against Hull and to play him with Keane in that match.

With a looming Wembly final and matches coming thick and fast before I guess HR is taking a gamble that we'll do enough tonight to ensure we're in still in with a good shout come the 2nd leg.

Really? Damn.. I need to be watching this game..

Quite an average team you'd have to say.

Shak are all over Spurs. Last ditch tackles everywhere.

How did he play? Did anyone watch the game?
Was crap, but Redknapp's tactics didn't really make sense. He stuck Campbell up front alone, one of his worst roles. Then he brought on Bent and then we all though that 2 up front would be better, but he took Giovani off for Bent, put Bentley on the left and Campbell on the right, so that clearly makes the midfield more balanced!

Zokora was easily the best player on the pitch, followed by Jenas - the rest of the players were crap, especially Gomes.

Thanks for that.. Its really sad to see how Tottenham have treated the Uefa Cup.. Its a disgrace..

Have to disagree with most of this. Zokora was as poor as the rest of them, and Campbell did his job, which is more than can be said about his team mates, and was praised by the pundits after the game. He chased down the defenders but to no avail and ran after the shite passes they tossed at him. I'd give him a 6, which isn't really "crap".

Played 90 mins in the Uefa cup the other night did anyone watch it? Was he the one that assisted Dos Santos for the goal? Also if anyone saw the match how did he do?

They´re 2 points above the relegation zone. they´re far from safe.

If West Brom beat Fulham tomorrow, Tottenham will only be out of the relegation places on goal difference.

I was not talking about position wise IMO they will not get relegated as they have enough quality to Steer them clear of the relegation spots and in the time I took to reply to this they have already moved a step closer to safety..

Spurs spend millions of pounds and concentrate on the League Cup just so they can get into the UEFA Cup, then they field kids...

It's good for us isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong but because of that Campbell has played 180' of Uefa Cup football in the past week.. But other than that I agree its an absolute disgrace..

He did provide the assist for that goal. He was also the focus of 3 separate penalty shouts, one of which was completely blatant and should have been given, whilst the other two might well have been given on another day. I don't normally blame refs but this one was shockingly bad.

As per normal Campbell worked very hard, but didn't provide much of a goal threat. In general I'd give him a a 6 (maybe a 6.5) out of 10 for his performances for Spurs this season - rarely bad, good in patches, but nothing earth shattering.

Would pretty much agree with most of that. When I've watched Fraizer he looks like a good striker but someone who relies a bit too much on his pace and perhaps lacks that bit of extra class to break down tight defences at the top level. Although, I'd probably say the same about the likes of Agbonlahor and Bent and they seem to do ok in the P.L.

However, in his defence this season he's never really been given any run of games to establish himself and build confidence as Spurs chop and change managers as well as players. And Spurs aren't a side who really create a lot of chances anyway.

So perhaps there's still more to come from Fraizer.

Thanks alot Glaston.. May I ask you another question? Is it fair to say Campbell's Season is over?

Also Is it possible for us to recall him? Do you think there is any chance of that happening?

I can't see Campbell starting any of the remaining matches now unless 2 of our 3 fit strikers (Keane, Pav and Bent) get injured. However, he could still make a few sub appearances.

As far as I know it's only possible to recall him now if Spurs agree. I guess that's possible if Spurs decide it's better to give one or more of our youth strikers - Obika or Mason for example - any remaining playing chances.

A Spurs fan far from pleased about Campbell's recent reserve outing

Manchester United’s Fraizer Campbell’s appalling inability to control a ball, limited opportunities to progress through the middle

Finally, a few words on Manchester United’s Fraizer Campbell. A player, let’s not forget, denying the likes of Mason and Obika the chance to gain more experience at this, and higher, levels. Actually no, I’m not going to put any more effort into describing his performance, than he himself put into it. I guess we can at least take comfort from the evidence before us that our own academy is now managing to produce players that are technically light years ahead of at least one example from United’s much vaunted set up.

And the rating he got...

Campbell - 34% - Awful player, playing awfully, with virtually zero commitment

I have noticed that many Spurs fans on GG are biased, fickle cnuts

Not saying that Campbell deserves to play more, but accusing him of zero commitment is BS. He may be technically lacking but he always gives his all. Spurs have been absolute crap this season it's a wonder how any of their strikers can hit the net regularly.

We should have loaned him to Hull instead.

we need to be a bit more careful where we loan our players - Spurs and Newcastle have both wasted a year of one of our player's career.

Interesting. Earlier in the season when he was making the odd first team appearance they were hailing his commitment, saying that the rest of their team could learn from his Man Utd drive to win and work hard. Maybe he's just finding it hard to get going now that he'll probably spend the rest of the season in their reserves.

FFS lets get him back already.. They surely have no use for him anymore.. He could still yet get a few games here or even go out on another loan however the latter is unlikely.. He could make a few apps in the PL if we wrap that one up early..

fact is Spurs got him for the year as part of the berbatov deal, it doesnt matter how badly they treat him there, hes theirs untill the season end.
it vexes me greatly though because this lack of playing time must surely be hindering him, its a pity he didnt go back to hull for the season.

Did alright for them last night. Scored 2, a nice chip and a pen he won himself. Won a further penalty which Pavlyuchenko missed.

Came across this by accident and had to bump it given the agreement!

In fairness to the Chief, Campbell has been frequently injured for the last two years and has not had regular outings.

Hence, he covered himself with the magnitude of the prediction:cool:

Haha what a prediction from the chief there.

To be fare if it wasn't for the injury he would have probably made his England debut this season...

I'm not quite sure being an England international translates to being Drogba/Eto'o Mark II!

Wasn't it just the one main injury? He played 31 of 38 league games last season!

Well maybe he ment Drogba/Eto'o II at the same age?:p

You got a link to those stats for the league.

I thought he was out for most of last season but had a decent run towards the end. Could well be wrong though as I have not followed Frazier much since his transfer.
