The outrage when a decision goes in Manchester United’s favour

The contact we saw yesterday? No.
Interesting.. I think there was enough contact for it to be a pen, but the contact needed to be initiated by AWB and not Havertz flicking out his leg as he went past to buy the pen.

Was surprised he didn't get booked for it tbh. It was one of those old school dives, didn't even look subtle.

I don't disagree with any of that, just with the notion you joked about in your last sentence. There's no conspiracy, just as there isn't any media conspiracy against arsenal, like I sometimes read on arsenal mania.

No one's really saying there's a conspiracy, well not seriously anyway. I don't think theres Refs having clandestine meetings to discuss how they're going to feck United over.

But United do get rough treatment in the media and then in turn from the Refs at times. The shitstorm around the Wolves penalty appeal wouldn't have been such a big deal if it wasn't against United (Look at Brighton-West Ham the week after). And United fans know from experience, that whenever we get a decision in our favour that the media are frothing at the mouth about and covering for days, PGMOL starts issueing apologies and demotes officials etc that we're in for a rough ride with Refs for a few weeks after it.

And that has been the case.

I remember when Varane stepped across Calum Wilson last season and everyone went apoplectic over the decision to not award a penalty.

Just google Varane Calum Wilson and you'll see headlines such as "Callum Wilson is the most blatant penalty I've seen", "It was 100% a penalty" (Dermot Egghead), "
pundits fume over penalty decision in Man United vs Newcastle", etc etc. Yet it was by no means much worse than Gabriel being run past by Højlund and putting his arm across and around him to pull him down, which was described as "strong defending", "Gabriel simply holding his ground", or "You can see Højlund grabbing Gabriel's arm there"

I listened to Lineker Sheerer and Micahs new podcast, they cant believe Arsenals pen got overturned. And didnt even mention our penalty shout either.
