Aunts with dicks.

We’ve conceded 6 goals in the league all season. You’ve conceded 18(!!) and despite apparently playing attacking football you’ve scored less than us and sit 6 points behind us and our best player was out for 2 and a half months.

You’re a mile behind us.
Yeah I saw how far we are behind you at Anfield. As if we also haven't had numerous players out (Mane, Lallana, Coutinho etc.) and you, with the most expensive squad in history, have the gall to bleat on about injuries ?! We can all make a case based on injuries. And yet still only six points between us, and could have been just two. No matter which way you try to embellish it that's the reality.

Can any Spurs fans shed some light on the Danny Rose situation? His omission from the starting lineup speaks volumes, yet I cannot find an article (at least one with any substance) that would indicate him leaving Spurs anytime soon.

Clearly something is amiss, though.

He is still building up his fitness. He's been out for 10 months, and isn't yet upto the level Poch requires. He played well away in Dortmund second half but he will be rotated with Davies all season.

The reason no one is reporting it is because there's nothing in it. Now if you are asking will Rose leave next summer, I think it's likely...but it will be for about 50 million quid.

I don’t understand this.

If Ashley Young doesn’t get the deflected goal do United (the team with the most late goals in the league) just stop attacking for the remaining half hour and settle for 0-0?

Is there a parallel dimension where Mignolet is actually a talented keeper and keeps out a floaty cross to his back post?

These things don’t just happen for no reason.

There is nothing to embellish.

Liverpool remain 6pts behind United in the league table, injuries sustained by either up to this point are irrelevent.

Exactly this, and you could pick out if's and but's in every single premier league game so far. If Lukaku scores his early chance at Anfield who knows what happens?

Fair points about injuries, we all get them. I think that's a valid point but 6 points is 6 points. It's not 6 points but it could've been like this. What about the other 23 points that have undoubtedly been subject to the same conditions, and the points we dropped?

With tough games ahead for United the gap may very well close and then if you say there's not much difference between the sides would I agree.

Arguments fall down when 8 points is described as insurmountable yet 6 points becomes "Just 6 points."

Could have been just 2. Could have been.

Maybe it's just 2 in alternative table?

Coulda shoulda arguements always end on a loser because they have no basis with which to argue. We're 6pts in front of Liverpool because that's the way it is, I feel that gap will widen further when they visit OT as well.

So wait, United won a game that we dominated and the argument is that we are lucky, Liverpool draw a game they never really controlled and the argument is they were unlucky?

Got it.

Always thought they would be battling for 4th with Liverpool. Just feel like this season they are missing that edge without a home ground.

Think we are above them for the first time since january.

Talking of their squad, i think they have lost a lot by not replacing Walker and Rose properly. They were their 2 main weapons.

Not to mention the insinuation that United's points tally is fortunate, when the team 8 points ahead of us have had a huge amount of good fortune.

If United to Liverpool could easily be 2 points then United to City could easily be 3-4.

That isn't the argument so clearly no, you didn't get it.

That might not be the argument but you made that point to support your whatever argument.

Well damn, I thought I had got it. Can you explain clearly what you mean then when you keep repeating the 'could have been just 2 points' thing? Because I can't see how it makes any sense in any other context.

Very true, as well as seeing Dembele losing form and putting all faith in Eriksen/Alli/Kane. Last season you feared the system, where the full-backs surged forward and where Dembele was awesome at shielding the back-line. Now their defensive unit is just good, not great - and their central midfield is weak. Harry Winks is average and Dier is just another player. Teams mark out Eriksen and Alli, which cuts the supply for Kane. When they play Sissoko you know they are in trouble.

The loss of Walker was played down, the loss of Rose even more - but now we see the difference between very good full-backs working in a system, vs. mediocre full-backs trying to do the same. Trippier and Davies, as well as Aurier are all just average.

Exactly. If Spurs had a shit season they would probably lose Kane, Alli and Eriksen as well.

I don't think they'll lose Kane, he doesn't strike me as motivated by money or wanting to play anywhere else other than Spurs.

Alli & Eriksen however, they definitely can lose.
Also have they tied up the contract for Toby? He's also someone I can see them losing if they don't win anything soon.

Probably. Kane seems to love play for Spurs.

Think it's far too simplistic to put it that way given their long term contracts and the state of the PL now.

There's just way too much money in the PL now to force a club to sell to a PL rival. These guys will need to attract interest from abroad which isn't easy given not many clubs can fork out the cash needed and the ones that can already have top squads which needs these guys to really perform at a class level to be pursued.

Kane's situation is a tad different to the other 2 btw, unless Spurs feck up big time, I can see him being there for a long time. Boyhood fan of the club, fantastic city to live in, gets paid top whack, etc. He's living the dream really.

It's noticeable how slow their attack has looked this season (at least without Son).

In the more physical Premier League they've especially suffered from that, less so in the CL.

Not quite...

Just referring to the infamous picture of an eleven year-old Harry in an Arsenal shirt. I think there's another of him at the invincibles' trophy parade, but I can't remember if that's actually him.
Yeah, I've seen it but was told that's him when he played for their youth team or was a team trial or something?

Think they have tried to adapt their style without Walker and Rose so they are slower.

I'm happy with Trippier but would prefer if Sessegnon was brought in on the left. I honestly thought Man City would take Walker and Rose so I'm surprised Danny is still about.

What about trying to give Rose another chance? Think he can still be good for you.
