I actually wouldn't be against that.
You already have Eriksen and Alli though. Sigurdsson would be very expensive as well. I think Spurs need a winger more than another CAM.

I think for the price they'd be willing to part with him, I think that's a non-starter. Never know though, I know Swansea bid for Seri (albeit a bit of a derisory bid), so if they can replace that creativity before hand, may be willing to negotiate on the price. They could get someone like Sigurdsson back. He would suit them well.
I have no idea but it seems to be a feature of 'new contracts' although to be fair Coutinho's new contract doesn't contain one (according to the club) but then he's being paid a huge salary and there's probably a 'gentleman's agreement' in place a la Suarez. It just seems strange that at Spurs the players are paid far less than they could achieve elsewhere but they accept this without a RC ? Why and how has to be asked.
We do lack pace in attacking areas.
We do lack pace in attacking areas.
You lack a first teamer with pace. N'Koudou and N'Jie were/are both pacey but neither have really been given a chance to develop. Hence N'Jie was flogged off and N'Koudou is looking like the same scenario. Ultimately with Alli/Eriksen and Kane being undropable it's tough for any other attacker to really be given a chance outside of cup competitions. I do agree with you though, you do need someone with pace to break through occasionally. As bad as Sissoko is, he does at least provide that function from time to time, the problem is that his end product is then atrocious.
It's the reason players like Navas still featured regularly for City in spite of possessing negligible end product. He stays wide, stretches the pitch and creates space for the more creative players in the middle. That's what I feel Spurs need. I know you were linked with Zaha last summer which many people derided but I honestly thought he'd have been a good addition.
In the long run it's probably a good move for him. He's a talented player and he showed that at the u20s. What he needs more than anything, though, is games. And more importantly, games in his preferred position. In the appearances he has made for Spurs, they've often been out wide, while his better position is as a deeper lying midfield player.Onomah has joined Aston Villa on loan, not sure about that one, thought he might break through this season but he definitely has the playing style and ability to have a great season in the Championship. Although he will be playing with Whelan, so best of luck to him.
Sounds like Sissoko is off to Trabzonspor on loan and with Onomah also going out on loan that surely means Tottenham are going to be signing some players. They're looking very short on players in their squad.
Yeah Barkley is the obvious one here, Max Meyer's name has popped up recently too. We have pulled in about £70M in transfer fees this summer and honestly believe that money is there for player purchases. Levy has said our transfer policy is the same as it has been, which is basically a net one.
I'd be surprised if you did actually go for Barkley. I just don't see it with him, I don't think he's a top 4 player at all, squad choice fair enough but I don't think he wants that. Max Meyer and Giovanni Simeone however would be very shrewd business.
Are Spurs gonna sign anyone?
I'm hoping for 2-3 and believe it will happen but not till all the madness has ended.
I don't think anything has been confirmed yet but pretty sure Poch said he'll be getting a scanIs Trippier likely to be out for a period of time? Has there been any confirmation of what kind of injury it was? This is has drastic implications for my FPL squad.
What madness? And how is any 'madness' affecting Spurs directly in the transfer market? Seems like a bizarre excuse to me.
They'll leave it until deadline day and try to pick up a few players that haven't moved but are available.
They try for Barkley today and he's probably £35-40m. The idea will be on deadline day with only a year left on his contract and no other bids; Everton will blink and he'll sign for £20m.
It's a high risk strategy as I doubt Moshiri is in desperate need of £20m, but it's a typical Levy tactic.
Also quite a pathetic strategy trying to save £10/£15m considering they have £70m in their pocket from sales this summer alone. Usual small club mentality at its finest.
Surely a club that has finished 2nd would rather invest in players during preseason to give them a chance to settle in, bond with their new team mates etc. to try and improve next year, rather than rest on their laurels and make risky bids on deadline day.

Barca coming in for Ali (potentially) - I mean would Levy really turn down say £120M - how about £150M... every player has a price - especially with LevyWhat madness? And how is any 'madness' affecting Spurs directly in the transfer market? Seems like a bizarre excuse to me.

I can see deadline day shenanigans with Barkley in and Ali out (and a chunk of the stadium paid for)
sooner would be my bet - I mean levy will want the replacement in place before he is sitting on that big chunk of change - but yeah honestly Ali, Erikson and Barkley - they do look quite similar in terms of their best position so O honestly wouldnt be surprised to see one of them goI very much doubt Barca are interested and I very much doubt if Levy would entertain anything other what they paid for Neymar which would basically Levy saying he's not for sale. It will be Sanchez or Coutinho.
Reports today are saying Everton have already dropped their asking price so the deal will happen sooner or later.
If you don't think the market is crazy ATM well there's not much I can say to convince you otherwise. Oh and I won't get into the "small club" mentality thing cause it's pretty childish and boring, you sound like your frothing at the mouth mate.
Frothing at the mouth? What on earth are you talking about? And why would I be 'frothing at the mouth' over anything to do with Spurs?
I simply provided an explanation to back up my small club mentality claim. You have earnt £70m for players this summer and haven't bought a single player yet, with the aim of trying to save a few million on deadline day. That's small time to me. Did buying Sissoko on deadline day not teach you anything about this risky strategy?
Regarding the market being crazy - hurry up and embrace it, as it's not simply going to change overnight. That's a silly excuse to make.

Why pay extra money when you don't need to? It's not a "small club" that wants to save money - it's a stupid club that doesn't.
In any case, seeing as the original asking price was £50m, the actual saving may well be more than £10 - £15m

Your posting just seem a bit of a rant. If you classify us as a small club cause we're not as big as United then your right. Sissoko was a crazy but I have no problem admiring that, completely didn't fit what we were about.
We are following a few players and will buy at the price we feel is agreeable, it's as simple as that. Prices will obviously come down the closer to deadline day we get for teams who are looking to sell players, that's simple logic.
But it doesn't always work like that, hence the panic exposed in the willingness to splash £30m on Sissoko last season. The longer Tottenham leave it, the more desperate they get, and the selling teams know that.
