Kane really messing up my Fantasy-round, he has actually just scored in four games this season. In all of those, more than one goal! That’s pretty strange to be honest - let’s hope he wacks in a few against WBA next week.

Spurs very poor yesterday and Alli is a complete passenger when the team is not controling the game. When Alli isn’t scoring - he offers absolutely nothing. Doesn’t fight, doesn’t do enough for the team - the only thing he does excel at is scoring goals and tap-ins. Which is the important aspect in football of course, but he’s a forward and even then his stas aren’t great.

Who would be in for Dier now when it was only United after him and now you have Matic? If Liverpool can hold onto Coutinho we can hold onto Alli and Eriksen. I honestly don't know where this "rumours of discontent" are, Rose yeah and Dier would have fancied a move but it didn't happen and there wasn't a peep from him. In Poch's book he explains the situation and said the air was cleared. A few days ago Eriksen spoke about how happy he was.

I think it's naive to believe you can hang on to such talent when paying low wages and failing to deliver silverwear. Something has to give.

I agree it is a bit far fetched, however all players want to win things and play on the best stages and it looks like Spurs will miss out again this season.

Kane seems a loyal person so i can't see him leaving for ourselves or City for example but couldn't blame him if Madrid were interested, and losing him would be a massive blow to spurs and would likely see a downturn, similarly with Poch, surely only a matter of time before an elite club becomes interested.

I've said before I'd happily see Kane of to an elite club if we don't win something in the next couple of seasons, he deserves it but he seems willing to give us them few seasons. The season is still young and the FA cup hasn't even started yet so I don't know how it looks like we will miss out just yet.

Essentially 4 points with the goal difference. Don't forget that. And Utd are the team that have supposedly been in crisis, with the manager taking abuse from all angles.

I read this a lot on here I don't see how your a club in crisis, the only people who seem to think so are the fans as they don't like Jose's style of play. Myself as a fan looking in I think your having the best season post Fergie, your smashing teams by 3-4 goals every other week.

Exactly, over time players lose faith in a project. They were second last year and won nothing. Even United won two trophies, Arsenal got one and obviously Chelsea won the league. Tottenham have seen development for years, have bought some players to create a squad but just doesn’t look any better. What if they finish 4th or even outside the top 4 given the immense competition this year? They sure as hell aren’t going to win the league and at the end of the season, their players are yet again going to see another bunch of players lifting trophies. They messed up in the League Cup, the one they definitely should have gone for.

Problems will arrive for Spurs, their players will not want to see zero trophies yet again and earn 50% of what they could/should.

I would agree but it's not just fans on here. Listen to the guys on TV when we play every week and they're constantly talking about our style of football and how it's not good enough. The commentary during the Utd v Spurs game was appalling. You'd swear it was a massive shock that Utd beat Spurs.

Possibly. We will see. Top players want to be successful. I don't think Danny Rose will be the only player in that squad saying those things, let's face it.

I have no idea what they are saying, some players will some won't that's human nature. Some will have money as their main goal, but I agree all will want success but you or I can't say how a player wants to get that success. I've said it before if we don't start winning yes players like Kane, Alli, Toby, Eriksen will move on, but none of us know when that will be. Clearly Poch has a massive bearing on the individual and squad, so only time will tell, but I've been listening to the "your team will be broken up for 2 seasons" now and it still hasn't happened.

Pundits talk shit for controversy and ratings. You think Spurs don't get our fair share of shit media, for 365 days of the year we have to listen to pundits selling off out players. I mean it's absolutley no surprise to me or I'm sure any football fan with any knowledge how Jose is setting up, he's a winner and that's what he does. I mean most pundits must have short memories because I can certainly remember Fergie grinding out results when needed.

It started to happen in the summer when Walker departed...

I think Spurs will definitely be broken up at some stage when the big clubs come knocking. Barca and Real need new superstars and the likes of Eriksen and Kane will surely be on their radar.

A shame really, I don't like to see talented teams ripped apart by money (Monaco, Dortmund) but it seems inevitable.

They really need to win something before it happens or else it's a waste. Poch has lots of great qualities as a manager but his record in big games, especially away from home, is abysmal, and Spurs seem to lack the cutting edge when it really matters.

So it's going to be one player a season, that's hardly the picture a lot of fans paint of a mass exodus. You can say it over and over but I'm honestly not concerned. I believe we have a very happy unit of core players, absolutely nothing else tells me otherwise. If a player is sold he is sold, I won't lose any sleep over it, we have lost world class players in Modric, Bale, Berbatov and have improved for the most part.

If we're talking about players that wanted to leave then that would include Rose and probably Dier as well. With Alderweireld still not signing a contract either.

Agreed. They deserve to win something as a group, just not sure they will.

I think the belief they can simply let their top players go and replace them within is silly. Spurs need/needed a big experienced signing in the summer. It would have elevated them to the next level and given them a winning mentality to get past the final post. The issue is they have a wage structure they can't afford to break and as such will never attract that top bracket ready made player.

They are really snookered in that respect as the moment they buck the trend and pay out is the moment the likes of Kane, Alli, Eriksson form an orderly queue asking for a rise.

I've said above that I seen Rose as gone since his interview in The Sun, Dier wanted a move to United but was simply told no. Toby is under contract as far as I'm aware for a few more seasons, he himself has came out and said there has been no contract discussion.

Toby signed a new contract yet? I admire your optimism but the signs are already there. That said if you can win a trophy this season I think the dream can continue. Just not sure you will.

You lost those three over the space of like five seasons though at a period when they were the only top players you had. That's a big difference to potentially losing Kane, Eriksen and Alder in the space of two or three years. It's a lot easier to cope with the loss of one top player than the loss of three!

Plus let's face it, those Spurs sides were going nowhere, this is by far the best team you've had in the PL era and the most likely to win something.

I can counter that argument by saying we are, like most other clubs in the PL, in a much better position to hold onto players now.

I honestly don't know what you want us Spurs fans to say, should we say "yup the team will be broken up as we can't compete with the richer bigger clubs". I say it as I see it, were improving as a club every season and I'm not one to harp on about our new stadium but it will improve our finically capabilities massively, maybe not in massive transfers for a few seasons but clearly our ability to increase our wages will increase.

Spurs should buy Barkley in January. He needs a move to revive his career and you need to find a replacement for Dembele.

Like I said above, not yet, but as far as I am aware he has a good few years left.

I honestly think that deal has already been done, depending on his injury. His u-turn on the Chelsea move was just all too strange.

Harry Kane has revealed he wants to spend his entire career with Tottenham.

The news will surely please Spurs fans, coming as it does amid increasing speculation that Real Madrid have been showing a keen interest in the 24-year-old forward.

"My goal is to play my entire career only for Tottenham," Kane told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.

"We have a fantastic team, a great coach, a professional training centre and we're getting a new stadium.

"At the moment, everything suits me here and I'm happy."

All we hear from rival fans is "oh the side will be broken up", yet every player publicly says how happy they are at Spurs. To be honest, as a Spurs fan, I wouldn't be sad to see any player leave apart from Kane. Yes we have quality players, but they always come and go. Kane is the one I never want to see leave. He can go down in history and beat Shearer's record.

Anyway, really poor performance yesterday but it was clear to see Kane and Alli weren't fully fit. Davinson Sanchez was top class though, what a prospect!

I wouldn't call that good news. Everytime a player says this, they are usually off elsewhere within 2 seasons.

Note his comments..

We have a fantastic team... Well not if it keeps breaking up..

We have a great coach... It's Poch going to be there for a long time?

At the moment everything suits me.. that can quickly change.

Don't be so fickle.

You seem determined to see us crash and burn and I honestly don't know why. Is it cause we add to the strength at the top of the table? Is it our fan base? Or do you simply not like the chicken badge :D?

I actually like Spurs and what they are about. I'm just pointing out it's not sustainable in its current format. Either trophies are delivered or the squad, and maybe even the coach, moves on.

Celebrating penny pinching by Levy will only get you so far.

How is Levy penny pinching though? In terms of income we don't have the resources, I mean annual turnover to compete with 4-5 other clubs in the league. We had a stadium half the size of most, no stadium naming rights and and not the brand name. Slowly but surely these are improving. Also it has to be remembered ENIC are an investment group, they at the end of the day in it for profit, luckily though Levy and Lewis are Spurs fans. I'd say once we are in the new stadium we will start hearing rumours of a takeover, mostly American. No idea how that will pan out and much more dubious of that than Levy and co.

Their team lacks guile and creativity and i have no idea why they matched up with Arsenal. Arsenal players are easily as talented if not more than the Spurs one's especially with the unsettled midfield. Poch had to outdo Wenger on the tactical board and failed miserably.

I don't see any of those as irreplaceable. And no club would allow a mass exodus of their top players, even if keeping them made them 'unhappy' (ref. Liverpool and Suarez or Coutinho, didn't/hasn't affected their games at all). I think SPurs have most tied to long contracts no ? Unless there are break-clauses then it's not going to happen despite us, the oppostion fans, willing it to.

To be honest, a lot of the Spurs hate on here is largely attributable to Glaston.

Probably the most disliked poster on this forum for years. The hate then just extends to the team he supports.

i think this is spot on. Few months back I remember saying I don't like Spurs and that has nothing to with few posters here but thinking back I was wrong. I used to root for Everton and Spurs against every team but once I had to read all the crap here, I started to root against them. Coincided with them improving and finishing above us.

Great team though and deserves massive credit for what they have done in last 3-4 years.

I find Glaston hard to hate. Irritating yes, but his breathlessly desperate PR on Spurs' behalf and guaranteed disappearance from the Caf every time they have a bad result is as funny as anything.

That some random Spurs fan could be so detestable that he forces you to hate the club he supports is quite an achievement.

Although in truth, when it comes down to it, no self-respecting United fan could ever really hate Spurs, not in the truest sense of the word anyway. They will never be a Liverpool, a City or even Leeds United. A league rivalry may have formed over recent years but it will never extend beyond that.

That's true but it hit me a while ago that There's a generation growing up who have never seen the Utd-Leeds rivalry with them being out of the PL for over a decade now. It's more than a football rivalry as just like with Liverpool the geographic and societal factors magnify it. Utd fans of a certain age will have Leeds up there as their greatest rivals but I suspect many who followed the club in the PL era and specifically the last decade won't really get it.

The centre of defense has to be a big area of worry for spurs. Vertonghen is slow af and Alderweireld is kicking up a fuss over money. Cant help but think they will have to cash in on one of the forwards to be able to buy centre backs.

Sanchez looks decent though?

Agreed with Alderweireld though.

You couldn't be more wrong. We have some of the best centre-backs in the league.

No, spurs are at best just adequate wrt CBs. But that wasn't my point was it?

Yeah Sanchez is great. Vertonghen though seems to be out of steam and their young CBs are few years away from being good enough.

Think we will find out in their games vs City when they come up against the fastest attack in the league.

Vertonghen has been by far our best defender for over a year now. You clearly have not watched us much.
