Trump Coronavirus (CV in US Politics)

I think the big question is if doctors would give him dexamethasone earlier (as in with milder symptoms) than they would “normal” patients, since he’s the president.

The recovery trial clearly showed worse outcomes when dexamethasone was given to people not on oxygen. So giving to him would be inappropriate based on evidence if he is not on oxygen. Being the president shouldn't change evidence.

Why would supposedly the best doctors in the world administer antibody cocktails that haven't been approved for even emergency use and powerful steroids meant to be used when on supplementary oxygen ? Is some other 'doctor' that Trump trusts calling the shots here ?

Presumably he is on supplementary oxygen.

Everything on the right side is fairly innocuous. If it said Pepcid AC instead of Famotidine you say, "ha! me, too Mr. President!"

Trump probably takes melatonin regularly as a sleep aid.

A single children's aspirin daily is commonly prescribed to people at risk for heart problems.

Like @mav_9me said, only the top three or four are of any concern.

Remdesivir will keep him alive, just like it did Boris. It's apparently very effective but they've been keeping it under wraps and away from the general public.

It is not under wraps and away from the general public. We have been using it for a few months now. There is some evidence it helps a bit but it's by no means a cure.

whether he has it or not is just another part of his personality cult and I'm surprised to see it has its own thread as surely that's the effect Trump would be hoping for more boadly (this to take the headlines instead of his poor debate performance, covid more generally, and a possible double digit polling deficit).

Indeed. I asked my wife and her colleagues earlier today and they were saying similar things. It doesn’t add up.

So under wraps that it gets mentioned everywhere and the FDA has allowed it to be used on all Coronavirus patients. Top secret stuff.

For the worst cases. It's already been used for far longer than that.

Guys just a quick question regarding administration of steroids, would that not potentially be very serious malpractice if the MDs know (which they obviously will) those steroids have the potential to make things worse yet they still administered them?

If he dies and those steroids end up a contributing factor, would they not be struck off? Just seems like they’d use them as directed - in emergencies only.

Clearly he has been very sick and worried for his life. He certainly can't come out and say it's just a cold or small case of flu after this!

Steroid medication is now part of standard treatment for bad cases of COVID-19, just like blood thinners. Steroid medication serves to slow down the immune system, as lots of people were killed by cytokine storms (an immune system overreaction).

What is your source for this?!

I showed this post to my girlfriend who’s a COVID ICU work and she says that’s absolute nonsense, they’ve been administering remdesivir for months.

Everyone has access to dexamethasone. There is a reason we don't give it to everyone just like that. See above

Other than top 3 none of that is really treatment for covid 19. It's all just supportove bs.
She also agrees with this for what it’s worth. The top 3 of that list are the ones to really look at

Now it is. But Boris was first treated with it back in march/april, when it was restricted to the public for all but the worst cases. Does she acknowledge that it's effective?

So he finally learnt about Co-vid.

Imagine being one of the Secret Service people having to risk your life because he wants to do a little drive by waving to his proud boys.

Its just another Trump con, this is what he does, what he's always done.
