They can't get him with FFP restrictions. They can only spend £49 million net. If they get Mangala, they are done unless they sell.. and they won't get £50 million from sales. Especially as they need to try and bring in some British players otherwise they will have a seriously thin squad for the CL next year.

I completely agree with you, but i meant it in a way that it'll show up quite a few of our average player for van Gaal to see. Obviously we can all see who is utter crap, and it's infuriating when we see them play week in and week out, regardless of how bad they play. Hopefully these useless players will be exposed for van Gaal to see for himself when we play a better team then LA Galaxy and then they'll be on the first taxi out of OT.

Oh i knew what you meant man, i just dont think we have time to f*ck around right now. The club would have briefed LvG on who's not up to it, so for me its friggin annoying he's gonna end up with the same conclusion as all of us when many of the best players have; lost interest, signed an extended contract or moved on.

I think Young could prosper under Van Gaal & i say that with total amazement. I thought he was well up for it the other night & wanted to prove he belonged here. I've also been hearing that he's actually a really down to earth lad & not the twat i've been goin on about so much. Its only one game for him of course & goals mean shit - its the effort thats made for the team that counts most. He was fighting for the shirt & thats what every fan wants to see from their players.

Fletch doesnt have to prove anything & would have been Captain last season if it weren't for his illness & regaining fitness. Thats a proper United man & a superb human-being from all that we've seen & read about the man.

Nani showed the other night has no interest in playing well for United, but just to draw his wage. 4 years are left on his contract & i guarantee you he'll try to run it down. He'd be lucky to get £100 a week for any club at the moment. He is a waste of space for any football team & a f*ckin disgrace to the game.

No-one seems to want him & i'd love us to just cancel his contract - on the grounds that he's not pulling his weight & hasnt done so for years. Just get shot of the prick & let another club waste their time on him - because thats what we're doin..

Cleverley - he runs around more than Nani, but does f*ck all too. Go through the squad & there's any number of players that attempt to look the part but never act the part. Many of them are using their United status to boost their profiles. Sickening!

If we cant get rid of the deadwood (with shitty arrogant attitudes) because of their wages - isolate them with no playing time & promote the U-21 lads..

I guessed that but I don't know what the article says

Real Madrid, current Argentine club, he wants to get for 60 million euros.

Manchester United has taken offense to sign the Madrid Angel di Maria whenever the Paris Saint Germain, the better placed team, not just to finish the operation. Louis van Gaal has given its approval to the transfer provided the price is not excessive.

The Real Madrid club hopes that the French pay 60 million euros for the Argentine, but his coach, Laurent Blanc, airtight shown on talks between clubs, "I would speculate. For now, nothing is done. Negotiations? Not I who should talk about it. Depends on the club. "

In France the option of the player can be assigned for a season, for the PSG again not breach the rules on financial fair play, and next summer to pay 60 million euros and buy the footballer agreed handled. The PSG has already spent 60 million on signing of Brazilian David Luiz Chelsea center.

Di María begins to worry about the lack of news and PSG could replay to Manchester United. Some sources claim that the president of the French club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi could travel to Madrid to close the deal.

So where is this big name signing that Woodward promised us? "Oh we are going to break the transfer record", "Watch this space" Yeah well we are going to lose Vidal to the Scousers....
Transfer window is still open.. I don't get why everyone is panicking. We could still sign Vidal, Van gaal said few times he needs time to assess the current squad.. If we are interested in Vidal and some other club makes a bid - I am sure we will make a move to sign hime. Just chill everybody.

Whats this craic about Vidal signing for Pool?

Is that the same regurgitated story that was doing the rounds the other day, or is there new reports that its on?

Havent been on here in a few days!

How can anyone read these google translations?

The spaghetti is in the hat of chief chef Ed Woodward. Di Maria is cautious red devils.

I'm glad you're amused, are you basing Smallings performances on him being played at right back by any chance?
Nothing wrong with that statement.
It wasn't the statement, it just tickled me how fiercely loyal we are to our players for better or for worse. we've had years of "This is Ando's year" "nani's gunna come back strong" individually the opinions are fine, its just the pattern occurring.

I didn't see it as that really. Smalling has never been anywhere near as abject as Anderson has been for us. Also didn't help that he was shunted out wide for most of last season.

Getting beyond a joke now. They're basically selling off their best assets.

We are being linked to this lad, and I like that. Think is he available and attainable.

They can't really stop it either. They do not want to sell their best players but realistically they'll never win anything at S'ton, so for a chance of a higher wage and a shot at the title or trophy why not join a top 5 club? And as for S'ton, if the player wants to leave and the money is right they have to sell.

Man, get serious, that is lunacy.

I agree with most of this post but you cannot wash and tidy up Anderson,Fellaini,Cleverley, Fletcher. They are just mediocre at best. LvG is not a miracle worker. Carrick is our best midfielder but turning 33 and not even good enough to play for England also we no longer have Giggs to call upon.
Herrera oozes class but come the games against City and the like he will be hopelessly overrun with any of those clowns supporting him and our defence will be under a lot of pressure just like last year.
I for one would take Blind even DeJong but I'm sure if these were actually wanted then Van Gaal would've had either of them signed by now.
Vidal and Kroos would have been muppet gold but obviously a) we did not actually want them or much more likely b) they did not want to join us.
However I'm not letting one preseason game and a quality pedigree manager paper over the serious cracks we have in midfield and defence so I'm not 100% buying the 'I will assess the players' statement. The season starts in 3 weeks he will need to improve our midfield and our central defence if he seriously wants to challenge for the title so surely we must be like Eddy big balls said working on transfers right now.
He'll improve Cleverley. I can see him being a success under van Gaal, as a water carrier for Hererra/whoever else in midfield. I agree with Fellaini and Anderson. Fletcher I refuse to give up on, but that's probably blind loyalty.

The crux of my post is really that you don't have to sign superstar players to build a good squad. We already have our sprinkling of stardust in Hererra, he's going to be a revelation in our midfield. Add some defensive stability around him, Mata in front of him and we're set.

Chambers is just 19 and still has a few years left on his contract. Not got much to lose by keeping him on another year as his value will likely increase.

Average players dont turn into great players overnight. The deadwood we have has been evident for 2-3 years. I for one am f*cking sick of seeing them play in the shirt & its about time we stopped that policy of handing a shirt to an average player who might come good..

This other policy of only goin for players who really want to play for the club is as brain-dead also. Most great players will fall in love with the club once they're here..
Yeah, we should ideally sign players who explicitly don't want to play for the club. We could maybe trick them into signing for us by pretending we're Real Madrid.

Ya he looks quality alright but like Di Maria if we're gonna play a 352 there isn't room for him unless we're gonna play 433 a lot and even at that he'll cost €50m if the rumours are true.

Defensive stability is exactly what we need in midfield. No one in the existing squad is up to it. Against the top sides, we will get overrun as things stand.

Great signing for Arsenal if they land Chambers, good price aswell at the £12m going round. He'll be first choice for them by the end of the season.

They could if they wanted to. Sadly it seems they're cutting away all of the most saleable assets. Unless they buy really well it would surprise me to see them in the bottom 6 or 7 next season.

I'll give you Fletch as he's a great lad and does give his all. Cleverley I have given up on completely.
Herrera is special though, I watch La Liga a lot and he does stand out. After Spain's dismal showing I see him getting a cap in the euro qualifiers and improving even more. I just don't want him to have the burden and extra pressure of carrying our midfield. I will take a non superstar or any player better than what we currently have.
Surely there are plenty!
As long as this happens and we also get a good CB in I think we will challenge again, just pray RVP stays fit.

It really has come to that hasn't it.

Anxious last few weeks of the transfer window for us. It really is

I dont understand why it has to be like that man. Its not as if we're skint & we need to sell to buy. We need to buy & sell at the same time, or sell at a later date in this window or the next. Working with non-motivated or skilled employees, is the detriment to any working environment. You cut your losses & get people included that have something to offer.

Drop them from the squad if you have to, because they're holding everyone back at the end of the day..

I think that Cuadrado is a wing back primarily, he was at Udinese.

As Solius said, he needs a decent run at CB, he will come good. I have no doubt
