Everything's shut in my area, I think it's incredibly defeatist..If this lot realise everything's shut and everyone's gone home, they'll reckon the streets are theirs...I get the need for safety and obviously my ends have been central to this the last 2 nights but I still think it's the wrong message to send out personally....As long as people are safe I suppose.
There was talk of a picket line during the clean up, and some of my mates in Bush are talking of doing the same thing...Inspired by theTurkish lads who did it yesterday (and big up them)....I'll definitely go down if the word gets out.

These kids have just proved what a lot of us have known for a long time, in some places the streets are not safe alone, the streets are not safe at night. It varies from place to place but honestly this problem has been around for a long time.

It may be defeatist but the alternative risks ending up face to face with fifty kids with only your broom for protection. Even groups of fifteen rozzers in riot gear are routinely getting run.
You could make a sort of cross between a tortilla and a lasagne. Fry the onions in oil and add the Dolmio, then layer a baking tray with the sauce separated by layers of pasta, then whip up the egg, pour it over and cook it in the oven on about 180 until the egg solidifies. You could really do with some cheese though.

I felt safer walking the streets 15 years ago too, for similar (and depressing) age-related reasons.
Yeah it is known. Honestly I was one confronted with 10-15, 13 year olds ish with metal poles. There was about 8 of us all 18ish (3 years ago) and they came up to us saying how we where "disrespecting them" etc. This was in broad daylight in a borough in kent, and it would have gone very bad had one of their mums not sped up slammed on the breaks and had a go at them for skipping school.

Can anyone confirm if it's kicked off in Manchester, CW? My missus has had her friends contact her who work in the Arndale saying they've been sent home early and that some shop windows are getting smashed up at the Arndale but the GMP Twitter feed says all quiet in Manchester and that they've not advised anyone to shut early, but almost the whole Arndale has.
It wasn't good I can tell you that, they mostly went for my friend calling him "ginger" etc, but there where 3 guys in this group and the rest girls. We where pretty outnumbered.i noticed in Manchester, kids tend to act up more than adults! maybe because they know that there won't be a harsh punishment for their actions. TBH i have not had any problems in Manchester so far, but my local mates tell me about the shit that happens in areas like Longsight, fecked up shit!

I need the same, getting so many reports from friends and others about trouble where I'm at, but Thames Valley have maintained the exact same line since 11am, that nothing is happening anywhere around here. Irrelevant now I suppose, I'm about to finish work so I'll see if anything is happening.

yes pleza - all along trafalgar/ woolwich road all the shops were shut - i had played footy i wanted a beer and a dinner and apart from the kids looting jd sports there was not a soul in site - and lets face it a kid with an armful of clothes isnt a threat
