Sign the fecking contract, you crazy bastard.

What do you know about Manchester United? Stupid question. It's the biggest club of them all.

It is, you know, Louis. Now, just make sure you don't feck it up, eh?

That is awesome.

"It's a stupid question"

I love him.

I like his no bullshit personality, the only real thing that worries me about this is summer transfers, how is it all going to work with his world cup time ? I cant stand another season with Young & Fellaini and (sorry micky) but Carrick being our main midfielder, obviously we will have a list of scouted players and I guess he will look and see if he wants to take any of them,

One of the craziest summer ahead for our club ? Me thinks so

Came across very well in that interview - biggest/best club in the world

This has probably already been discussed, but what will the reaction be like if he signs the deal then the Netherlands exit at the group stage of the World Cup?

I know international management is very different to club management, but I fear the impossible job will get harder unless he wins the WC - which is unrealistic.

How many times did that reporter keep apologising after each question! Haha:lol:

He will bring back the fear at Manchester United. A man with a fearsome reputation and he will keep the media in check. He will crush any rumour on its way out of United.

We will go back to being a tight house. This is very very important for our team and he will do really well.

Loved it.

Not to have a go at Moyes unneccessarily but Van Gaal in that single interview already commanded more fear and respect from the journos than ol' Dave managed. Has the ego to handle the job, as if that were not already apparent.

"This question I cannot answer, and you know that."

"Im sorry."

"Yes."

He has a thick skin and an unshakeable belief in his abilities, I doubt he'll give a shit if he comes in for criticism from the English media.

Will be excruciating to read for us, mind.

If his blocking of the Nani transfer is true, then it would seem at the very least there's an ongoing dialogue between him and Woodward et al.

United had already ruled out any formal announcement this week.

That timescale may have something to do with a planned meeting on Friday between Giggs and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward for discussions about the Welshman's future.

The 40-year-old has yet to accept any coaching position with the Old Trafford outfit and, after introducing himself as a second-half substitute against Hull, he revealed it was still to be decided whether he would extend his playing career by another year.

Giggs has already ruled out the possibility of playing for another club, meaning his 963rd appearance for his United could turn out to be his last.

From the BBC. This could very well be the hold up. Giggs might want to wait until the season is finished before he decides his role, so the club is waiting for that before they make any announcements

We're all gonna be gutted if he doesn't come now. The guy is a beast.

Does he have a piece, though? That is an important question, given our club's history of hair.

I mean a hair piece, yes.

He's fantastic isn't he? I had a massive grin on my face watching him answer those questions. Stupid question

As always with characters like this, we'll love him when things are going well but if things go wrong that abrasive side will cause us trouble...

Did make me laugh though. He's basically the anti-Moyes.

Here is another perspective of that infamous "stupid question" remark by Van Gaal, and no, it was not filmed by a potato.

EDIT: Look at his eyes, they stare into your soul and rip your heart out.

 love the response. I prefer no-nonsence managers him. No players position will be safe next season and I believe Carrick will be one of our important players that will figure this out the hard way, if he performs as badly as he did this season.

Thought this was a decent/amusing article. The photos with quotes are absolutely brilliant. There is no doubt in my mind that he is currently what we need - someone with unshakeable self belief and confidence in his own ability and the teams ability.

This is what we need. Someone who is utterly convinced that he will succeed here. He is going to be terrifying for the journos, but that is a good thing. There will be no slackers in the side under this man. The fear factor is back.

I love it. The way he just blasts him by saying the biggest club in the world and you ask me what I know about them.

Van Gaal: That's a stupid question....

I like him already...that's an answer straight out of Fergie's book

That interview was pretty entertaining I must say. A few more of them and he'll have everyone eating out of his hand. I'm certainly more convinced he is the man for the job after that, and he didn't even do much. He just seems to exude the confidence/arrogance that says he will be a success here, pr at least he's convinced of it. That was a feeling the previous manager never gave off.

He definitely got the same opinion of jouro's as Fergie

That interview has made me warm even more to him. He says all the right things and as has been said seems to have the confidence that he is the man for the job. He is a man with a pretty great record and really wants the job. Let's be honest, this job is not without it's risks. You're taking over a squad that needs plenty of attention and coming into a club that is without Champions League football for the first time in nearly 20 years.

He has to be pretty successful straight away. The club won't accept another season like this one. He'll be under pressure to deliver in a job that some see as an impossible task. He has won league titles with all of his clubs and I'm sure that's a record he's like to carry on and protect. But he really wants the job, despite all of that. That's what I find encouraging.

Now, on the flip side, we're one of the biggest clubs in the world, with huge resources for any manager to work with and while the squad does need attention, there is a core of really great players here. So you would say that any coach would want the job and that's true. But it's how much he wants it that I like.

The more I learn about van Gaal the more I love him, although that Luca Toni incident takes the cake  I think he's very much needed to give some of our players a good kick up the arse. Can't wait for his pressers in games against Chelsea, they'll be a sight  his comments today were very promising too, definitely knew the right things to say. Considering his availability and the lack of other quality coaches available I'd think van Gaal is a must.
