For a striker, he has a rather terrible scoring record when given his first team chances....
Yep. Not a natural goalscorer.

i think fergei should give him another 15 minutes to show up today.

He doesn't look ready to me. Maybe it's nerves.
fantastic second half!
Before goal - 5
After goal - 8
Confidence obviously is hugely important for him.
Can't see him starting against Arsenal.

Confidence obviously is hugely important for strikers (or players in general).
Agreed, he's been very wasteful with possession. Something you could rarely accuse Berba of.

Probably the biggest improvement I've noticed since his stint at Sunderland is how strong he's become in the air. He's always been strong but never a real aerial threat. Nowadays he wins lots of flick ons and is a real danger in the box. Peach of a header tonight.
Need a gif of the second goal, his touches were quite close in time, before and after the back heel.
He needs to learn from Hernandez on how to run behind the defense. He did hot help the mid field at time with his awkward running in the first half. His runs made Cleverley look bad.
Properly kicks off his break-through season in the team by making the goal sheet tonight.
