Westminster Politics

This is quite common in my part of the US, I don't think I've seen any election leaflets that mention which party they represent, which is kind of odd because in election season TV ads are constant and they mostly make it clear what the other party and their failings are
Leaflets are about written name recognition and policy, TV ads seems to be more about attacking the opposition party and linking the opponent candidate to them

I remember the days when people used to argue that MPs weren't paid enough and therefore had to take second jobs to supplement their income. Turns out they could go full time in a second job because they don't even need to turn up for their primary one.

Rats leaving the sinking ship. And a load of rats at that. What an utter disgrace of a so called government to just run away from their total mess.

Reminds me of the old rhyme; "He runs away lives to fight another day, he who stays and stands his ground, stands to get his 'clock' knocked around"
or
When the enemy is within sight, with over whelming odds... get the hell out!

Both I suspect straight out of the 'Tory government in panic' playbook, when even the Minister for Defense is off on his bike.. its 'hit the Road' Rishi!!

One of the many "unwritten rules" that the tories have broken recently is that you weren't supposed to use the official government media for propaganda purposes. An interesting example:

Here's the government view of new guidance to pension funds - encouraging them to take riskier investment decisions with their standard "default" funds:

Here's the FT on the same subject:

In other words it's the kind of statement that would get a pension provider or a financial advisor into trouble instantly and store up some legal claims for later. Incidentally if you are (or were) paying into a "defined contribution" scheme through a workplace pension or whatever you should read the FT article even if you don't normally pay much attention to pensions stuff.

Healthcare, cost of living, struggling to pay bills? Nah feck that, let's talk about degrees,

Without giving a single example...

Surely rip-off rental markets, rip-off gas & energy prices, rip-off food & fuel pricing would be a higher priority?

Oh good, another catchphrase.
It's as shite as his "make people do better English so they can speak gooder" as well as his one about improving maths and the eleventeen other distractions.

It’s over

Didn't think I'd be at any risk of agreeing with Mark Francois about anything, but here were are.

No kidneys

She's gaming the system.

Twitter doesn't care whether you are laughing at her or calling her a moron, just as long as you are looking.

And she gets a share of the ad revenue. Easy for anyone with a relatively high profile now, and you will see a lot more of it.

Great job Elon.
