It's strange. Here in the States, the media gets behind something like this and pulls out all of the national pride bullshit to the point where even I get sick of it. For some reason, the English media seem to do the opposite.

No it's not. I don't believe the English media dissed the England bid. They just revealed FIFA's members corruptiion. That's their fecking job.

Not like they've not got a lot of other news and corruption they could have been reporting right now, then bringing up something from the past. I'm talking about the Panorama show. No. When you find out something, you report it. If FIFA's response is not 'Ahem, we've got a problem, we need to sort ourselves out, maybe even postpone the vote', but 'right, we'll just feck England', then to hell with them.

That's probably a conservative estimate, but it shouldn't take so long. Blatter won't want to be away from his death ray machine for too long.

Yes but Panorama didn't really find out anything new. Yes we know the people are corrupt. They were corrupt when they were brought up on the charges in a court in 2007. This information isn't something they just got hold of and thought, the world needs to see this now. They've had it for a while, and have sat on it until they could guarantee to get the larger viewing figures, during a time of the public zeitgeist. Something that could have equally have been achieved a week after the vote. Wether England win it or not.
Saying everyone in Russia is racist is a bit racist. Spain still has problems wih Racism, as does Italy, especially in Football. We do to in England, just a hell of a lot less. You have to give countries the chance to host things and prove as they always do, that they are just like the rest of us.
