World Cup 2018 & 2022 bids

Do it for Becks' Grandad!!

To be fair, our bid is so self propelling that's all we can do..Everyone knows we have the facilities to host it tomorrow if need be. There's no need to wheel out 3D model hollogram maps or even the fact we haven't hosted it for ages...We love it's all we need to say. At least we didn't get James Corden to do it.

Sadly if we don't get it this time, I can't see us hosting it before 2036. By then I suspect I'll be peeing myself during the day.

Start practicing earlier and by 2036 you won't even notice you've wet yourself.

Im with you Mockers. feck all to do with free speech, the media as a collective are just a bunch of cnuts who seem to go out of their way to feck everything up for us.

Russia is getting alot of stick in here, but they handled a Champions League final very well, which is probably equivalent to a WC quarter or semi, so they could do it. But they don't deserve it, at least that what my grandma says, bless her.

"It's too cold and miserable for a world cup in Russia." She says, sipping her tea. "fecking bunch of communist, vodka drinking arseholes." She often adds.

 I like your grams

It's strange. Here in the States, the media gets behind something like this and pulls out all of the national pride bullshit to the point where even I get sick of it. For some reason, the English media seem to do the opposite.

It's fair to say that phrases like 'in the bag' will not go down well with FIFA.

Our press and media's favourite thing is controvesy and scandal. It's been like that for ages. Dammed be the damage it causes. They were even trying to do it with the Olympic bid. Blair reeled them in.

Same was said about South Africa, same is being said about Brazil.

What?

Racist? Brazil?

The police force maybe - but then neither are on a par with Russia - but where are you coming from with the whole racism point?

No it's not. I don't believe the English media dissed the England bid. They just revealed FIFA's members corruptiion. That's their fecking job.

Not the racism, that fans and players are at risk. I have full faith in the power of the Russian military to make sure nothing bad happens to anyone in a world tournament.

They could have waited for a few weeks though. Not like they've not got a lot of other news and corruption they could have been reporting right now, then bringing up something from the past. I'm talking about the Panorama show. The Times newspaper sting, I think, was a good thing though.

Because if there is one thing we can be sure of, the Russian military aren't corrupt or racist, only last year they saw a black man and didn't pelt him with stones. Just rotten fruit.

When do we get to find out that Russia have rigged the vote?

When the delegates who vote against them start turning up dead with a terminal does of Putintonium poisoning.

I would have loved to have seen Beckham meet Wills.

"Hello King Harry."

"Er..it's Prince William."

"Oh I know, I met your brother earlier."

No. When you find out something, you report it. If FIFA's response is not 'Ahem, we've got a problem, we need to sort ourselves out, maybe even postpone the vote', but 'right, we'll just feck England', then to hell with them.

Apparently were not going to be told the voting for each round, they'll just announce the winner later on. So closed door voting eh?

Ok but it still leaves the huge question of a institutionally racist country hosting a multi-racial tournament.

Either England or Korea for me. Korea's atmosphere was dominant in 2002, and they don't blow vuvuzelas, and show passion for the sport in the streets.

England...it's about time they got themselves a World Cup. Time to show why Premier League shines world wide, if not shown yet.

The announcement is at 3pm, right?

That's probably a conservative estimate, but it shouldn't take so long. Blatter won't want to be away from his death ray machine for too long.

How much is it going to cost you to host it if you win? Not including any incoming monies from tourism etc.

Korea have no chance (famous last words).

Yes but Panorama didn't really find out anything new. Yes we know the people are corrupt. They were corrupt when they were brought up on the charges in a court in 2007. This information isn't something they just got hold of and thought, the world needs to see this now. They've had it for a while, and have sat on it until they could guarantee to get the larger viewing figures, during a time of the public zeitgeist. Something that could have equally have been achieved a week after the vote. Wether England win it or not.

Saying everyone in Russia is racist is a bit racist. Spain still has problems wih Racism, as does Italy, especially in Football. We do to in England, just a hell of a lot less. You have to give countries the chance to host things and prove as they always do, that they are just like the rest of us.
