WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

We have looked so weak in front of goal lately that I’m worried about this, nice early goal to settle the nerves please England.

Pretty attacking line up from England, three forwards, Kirby as number 10 and Jill Scott always seems to be getting in the box and scoring a few when I've seen her in the past.

Lucy Bronze very attacking full back aswell, has been playing in midfield a lot in warm ups but seems Neville is playing her in her best position again.

The Scottish squad doesn’t have a single player with a surname starting with “Mc” What is the world coming to?:D

England penalty.

Parris scores: 1-0

Yep we’re just going to get players smacking the ball at players hands as they’re always going to give a pen now, no matter how close.

at least it hasn't come off her chest first

50/50 for me

you could give that if you like or say she's too close, I don't mind

(THEMZ THE RULES THOUGH) - :( :(

Suddenly ‘natural position’ is redefined as running with you arms behind your back. CL finals and half of the games will be decided by wether players forget to be Mike Smalling.

Dive send her off.

Here if Phil wins this do we think he would get knighted? In a way I kinda want to see that just to see Gary Neville’s reaction.

The handball rule change described by Elleray - as he was involved with the IFAB committee that did the refereeing guidelines:

Another change to the laws of the game means that if the player's arms extend beyond a "natural silhouette", handball will be given, even if it is perceived as accidental.

Elleray says this is an effort to put an end to defenders placing their arms behind their backs in fear of giving away a free-kick.

"We've changed it to say the body has a certain silhouette," said Elleray. "If the arms are extended beyond that silhouette then the body is being made unnaturally bigger, with the purpose of it being a bigger barrier to the opponent or the ball.

"Players should be allowed to have their arms by their side because it's their natural silhouette."

The silhouette description is probably as clear a description as they're likely to be able to give. The alternative from the refs perspective was to use a torso definition to clarify it, and they decided that was too harsh.
