WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

Dive send her off.

Here if Phil wins this do we think he would get knighted? In a way I kinda want to see that just to see Gary Neville’s reaction.
That'd be nice. Apparently there has been a Sir Philip Neville in the past. Not sure on the reliability of the site as it has an early 2000s aura to it.

It might have been asked before, but is there some unwritten rule about England national team managers wearing snug 3 piece suits?

England are playing decent but they can do a lot better, it's awesome to see Alex Greenwood starting though and Nikita Paris is such a great player.

that Scottish keeper is way too small to be in goal.

This has always seemed to me something that should be changed in women’s football. On average women are shorter so logically you’re going to have smaller female keepers but the nets are the same size as for men’s, right? Its always been the keepers that have looked lower quality than the outfield players from my brief viewing and playing against female sides.

Just peer pressure I reckon.

Isn’t it part of the FA uniform? I genuinely don’t know, @jojojo any idea?

Doubt it, but that would be hilarious. I'm now imaging some of our past managers in a 3 piece

You do have a point but Women's football does not need fewer goals per game.

2:0 - Ellen White. Nice finish.

For this game, I think Lee Alexander, who seems shorter than many on the pitch, has played very well.

Tell you what people appealing for handball every 5 seconds is going to get annoying real quickly. I’m already feeling a hatred for the England team as that is the 4th or 5th time they’ve shouted for 1 when it’s been nothing things avid watchers of football would claim it’s not hand ball.

Great start for England. They need the win here to have a realistic chance of topping the group.

Scotland, well - it serves them right, they should played more United players

It's simply the new var rule. We've seen penalties been given for stuff that wasn't in the past and now it will be. Get used to it sadly but don't sound out the English when it's been a common theme now with var with other countries.

And hatred...really?

Decent half, I feel for Scotland as I feel the penalty undid their game plan and England played pretty well. Scotland will need to come out all guns blazing in the second half

They really need to change the rules around VAR, especially with handball. By the rules it is a penalty, but before VAR that wouldn't have been a penalty. Between that and offsides, VAR has just made the game slower and less consistent.

Good first half though. England doing well in wide areas, Parris in particular looks amazing.

England the better side so far, but Scotland show they have some resilience in Lee Alexander and some bite in Erin Cuthbert. Impressed with Houghton, Bronze, Parris and White for England. Greenwood has played tidy.

Hope to see Arnot given half an hour as Scotland need more attacking play.

The English team are so much bigger, stronger and faster. The wee Scot lasses are brave but thoroughly overmatched.

Scotland back in it. Emslie scores but slight deflection off McManus.
