WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

It's not on the level of the top European sides who churn out top league level talents constantly. US u21's has a few maybe talents but it's not even close to world cup winning level, you'll be doing well to qualify.

As for winning it .. no, not for a very long time if nothing improves. It's not like the women's game where you can just throw money at it and hope something happens.

Their u17s were one of the favourites for the World Cup in 2017 and the u20 side was one of the best sides at the World Cup this year when without their two best talents. The talent is there now.

They’ve not just thrown money at it either. They’ve restructured massively from the ground up as well as improving coaching and better facilities. They’ve made all the necessary changes, it’s just a matter of time now for all the seeds to grow.

I agree like I said they have one of the highest potentials. There are a lot of top athletes in the country and any Sport they prioritize they are simply the best in. Football Basketball Womans soccer In this case.

The only way is up for the US.

Ah sorry, thought you were just talking about women's football in general.

Ok so USA have massively improved over the Years. From 94 until now you can see the difference like night and day. One day they will be a good footballing nation though probably will still be a while but it has been and is a growing sport every year. England and other countries have been playing it for much longer so they are ahead obviously but eventually USA will get up there. They are producing better talents and will continue to do so. The biggest positive about the US is they truly can only go up.

This all while being the 3rd of 4th most watched and played sport in the country. If USA prioritized "Soccer" over Football and Basketball they would flourish they simply have too many top talents in the nation and also..Merica!:D

As for England I mean no offense England have been pretty shet for a long long time and coming from a country who has the best league in the world and the biggest clubs its quite sad. They look like a pub team against decent opposition for the better part of the last 15 years.

Dont know why the hate on US when they have one of the highest potentials in the future.

Uh, not really. They're really rubbish at the moment and I swear Altidore gets games. They're a very, very subpar national side which is doing well to qualify for world cups, even when they have easy ass qualifying groups. Wales produce bigger talents than the US does. Pulisic is the only half decent player they currently possess.

Too many top talents at what? They produce good athletes, that doesn't equate to good footballers. I hate these kind of hypotheticals.

England have been pretty shite, needed widespread changes which we're seeing now. Although you're obviously massively exaggerating since we had a decent, competitive team for a while and produced some world class talents, just couldn't put it together in a tournament. But yeah, pub team.

There's no hate, just the 'they will be amazing in 20 years and win world cups!' has been going on for ages and never really happens. They do not have one of the highest potentials for the future, at all. Absolutely fictional.

Especially with the resources many of the big colleges have at their disposal. Top colleges invest millions into their teams.

Have to root for England here, despite the inevitable "It's coming home" rubbish. But the yanks are just too smug and their USA USA chants annoy the hell out of me.

England is definitely capable of creating stuff upfront but USA's gegenpress seems has been very effective.
People always hate the best:D

Should get Kirby on and switch to 4-4-3. Don't know why Phil switched to 4-4-2 when it isolates Paris
4-4-3 would definitely give England an advantage. Whether it would be allowed or not is another matter.

Yep.

Right now, a good bit of our best female athletes play soccer.

When American football dies, I think you’ll see that happen with our male athletes.
If it becomes the main sport, yeah. Right now you're system is way behind and the sport just isn't popular enough to have a big enough pool. NFL and NBA and MLB aren't taking players away from football, but their sports are

England's passing accuracy is dreadful. It must be hovering around 50%.

1.94 to now has seen MASSIVE improvement for Football in the country I dont know how you down see that.
2.Athletes is what I meant not talents but with the growing interest in the Sport yearly that will equate to top talents.
3. I dont think anyone believes they will win a WC in 20 years but will they win a WC eventually? No doubt about it in my opinion but we are a long way away.
4. As for my comment on highest potential I dont mean on current talent but rather there ability to produce great talent and grow as a footballing nation. Which they will it will only get bigger and bigger. Its the US we are talking about. It takes time but Football will only continue to grow there.

Way behind isnt accurate anymore, 5 or 10 years ago it was.
