WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

Doesn't look a pen on replay:(

It will never be the main sport though. It will always be basketball and baseball etc.
Basketball and Football. Baseball is a dying sport. But that's why I said it will take longer because Football and Basketball are so big here.

Wasn't VAR introduced to be used lightly to overturn obvious wrong decisions? Why is it used 20x a game for mm decisions?

Because once you open the VAR can of worms it can't be closed. People are not going to tolerate any mistakes or wrong decisions. Instead of VAR I would have hoped they would focus on better training of officials, maybe adding extra refs, 2-3 teams plus linesmen. The feel of the game is just different now, all these delays.

The English lady should be sent off for diving.
The ball basically went through her legs.

What a soft penalty if they give it. She missed it then made a meal of it.

Edit: seeing the replay there is contact that’s moves her foot.

I personally think the rule should be changed. Having a foot offside is ridiculous. Only since VAR came in have we accepted that. It was always benefit of the striker.
Always? Nah, not really. It should but half the time it doesn't happen. It's always been a bit arbitrary

Yeah slight difference between losing to Croatia and not beating Panama. Just a bit. Growing so much, seriously has this been on repeat for US football fans for the last 50 years or so? It's all that gets said. On the rise. On the rise. On the rise... I'd look to the future too if we had Jozy Altidore leading the line, but come on. Change the record.

Yeah, it will happen. Ok.
Live in the bubble then. if you dont see the difference from 94 until now with both the league and talent pool then I dont know what to say.

Nope, was a rule up to about 2003. So much better in those times.
Aargh thanks mate
That was was the best interpretation of the rule, also I’m pretty sure Van Nistlerooy use to attempt to exploit the rule by extending his arm outright to play himself onside.
Yeah. Similar to the handball rule “unnatural position” or so. Was better than the current one.

Oooh might be...
