WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

You haven't even mentioned the new silly handball rule.

It just makes me sigh. We will have attackers actively looking to kick it off defenders arms, hoping for a cheap pen. Will force defenders to defend with their arms behind their back, making it much easier for attackers to unbalance them 1 v 1. Seems to be the trend in most sports, make it easier to score, de-fang defensive players. I am not asking for dirty tackles to be allowed but more goals doesn't necessarily mean more entertainment.

England resorting to thuggish tactics. Low IQ players, like their male counterparts.
Our technical quality was abysmal. Shame because I felt USA were there for the taking in the 2nd half. Your organisation & quality was the difference between the two teams. Congrats & good luck for the final.

Not sure whats going on in this thread, was there something before game even started or

I couldn't agree more. By wanting to make handballs a black/white situation, bigger problems have been created. Maybe it needed better process

Yes? The Americans players knee hit the English player. I mean, I don't understand how that's confusing you?
Ok, thanks for the bold, that sure helped.

It’s not confusing me and this is tedious, you was arguing for it being obvious by saying she was knee’d. I just originally pointed out that’s a bit of a stretch and she was hardly knee’d, they just clashed.

That is all

Quality match. It would be nice to have someone as direct as Heath on our right side this season, we would improve dramatically.

Just seen England hosting next Euros in 2021. Will get plenty of good coverage and has to be the time thety make the next step to a final.

White was tucking that away if there was no contact. It's a bit frustrating to see that sort of penalty go against you, but it was a penalty.

Fortunately for anyone who doesn't think it was a penalty, it was one of the worst taken on a professional stage.

When did football turn into a non contact sport? We've all played football and got the slightest contact and non of it was even remotely strong enough to bring me down even running at full tilt, ive been clipped on the ankles when running at goal but still managed to carry on, a slight of the slightest knee knocks slowed down to an inch of it's life is 1. Not nearly enough to be a penalty and 2. To bring you down.

That was not a penalty, if you're going to call that a penalty then a tap on the shoulder that you somehow goto ground on, is one too.

So you think your foot getting hit while you’re mid swing, causing you to miss the ball, is the same as getting a tap on the shoulder?

Contact is things such as going shoulder to shoulder, not hitting the opponents foot mid strike, regardless of if it’s intentional or not.

I can agree with it being a penalty, I just thought without slow motion replays it would have been very difficult to spot

I remember that, didn't Lloyd score from halfway line?

Just reminding you though shocks can happen in finals. Think Holland will beat Sweden and they're not a bad team, got a good striker upfront who plays for Arsenal who's scored a few in this WC.

You can score against this US team, no clean sheets in the knock out rounds but have to admit their general game management when in front in games is superb and that's the difference.
