Zinedine Zidane | Resigns

Wenger on a 12 month deal wouldn't be the worst appointment.

I read Guti is the favourite though.

makes sense. After three CL titles in a row, how are you going to top that? Especially with a bit of a rebuild necessary in the coming years.

He could do better in the league but yeah I guess that will be his reasoning.

I would love it

I wouldn't mind it but if he actually resigns the press is going to put a huge pressure on the team and Deschamps with constant mentions of Zidane.

Resigning or fired?

Real fired Jupp Heynckes 8 days after winning the Champions league in 1998
No way can any club fire a manager after winning 3 CLs on the trot. The hierarchy would seriously upset the majority of the fanbase if they did that.

Probably resigning to go out on a high with Real. Maybe even a sabbatical, and then coach another club.

This is Real Madrid though.

And they had a very poor domestic campaign this year.

Most of us thought Zidane was a goner before this late season rally.

Perez likes Zidane. No way is he sacked, he probably wants to quit while the going is good.

He's just won three CL's in a row. I know it's Madrid and they're fecking weird but I can't see him being fired.

Can someone rationalise why Zidane is resigning? I think he will regret it for a 'break' or 'new challenge'. He has the best players available to him and if he wants a challenge, well there is an ageing team in Real Madrid where he can build on.

This thing about leaving on a high is nonsense! You try to better yourself every time until you fail, even then you persevere. Any manager would kill to be in his position.

If he is leaving due to unforeseen circumstances in terms of a personal/family issues, then so be it and good luck to him.

True, but that was before he won the CL. I get that Real are trigger happy with their managers, but Zizou isn't just the most successful manager for them in recent history, he's also a footballing legend for them. Perez seems to have a great relationship with him, too.

His job is done. x3 CL in a row. What more can he do..... Fair play to bow out now. Interesting to see who his replacement will be. Poch far too expensive in my eyes now. Just signed a new contract and then would want massive increase too....

If he was getting fired there wouldn't be impromptu press conference with him telling the world he's getting canned. He's obviously going of his own accord.

Good for him. Finish on top with one heck of an achievement. Not have to deal with this Summers drama of ins outs and taxes.

Real are no ordinary club. . . that's clear.

Yet to win three CL in a row is a phenomenal achievement by Zidane.

Time for a new challenge in his life.
