It was onside, nothing to do with opinions.
It was off Evra.

My stream showed it on a loop at half-time, I'm nigh on certain it was onside.

Stills can be misleading when judging these things, I've seen it at least ten times and I'm convinced one of the defenders moves out (as Berba moves in) when the ball is played.
I can't see that video; I'm at work. Stills can be misleading because invariably they are not taken at the exact moment the ball leaves the attacking player's foot. I think that's the case in this instance.
you are right, but (i think this may have been argued earlier), he was a regular at Spurs (i mean at set-peices). are the other substantially better than him? i guess it just shows that the step up from Spurs to United is actually a pretty decent one.
I thought we all knew he was off but were just choosing to ignore it
He was offside
The evidence is in the thread.
How this is even a debate is quite bewildering.
very true. I mean, I would prefer it if it wasn't offside, I'm a United fan after all. But it just was.
The chance he missed wasn't as easy as was made out in the match thread imo.
After the goal he was brilliant, his touch is sublime.
Played very well, shame he missed his big chance to win it.
I would love to talk about this, he played well an 8 out of 10
But I am too gutted with the result
Played well. Couldn't have asked for more other than his second chance hitting the target.
Great game, bad miss.
His best game in a long time, looked dangerous every time that he got the ball. Shame about the miss at the end, but to be fair it was a difficult enough chance.
Has anyone pointed out that he was very good last night by the way?

I was going to look back through the thread but couldn't get passed the offside issue.
You didn't look back very far, these are all from the previous page. The only reason the 'offside' debate was raised is because 'evra' was adamant that the goal was onside, which of course was a ludicrous argument.
Thanks. That's good to see.

Let's get it back on track then
Great game from him yesterday, personally I prefer him without Rooney, I feel that's when we get the best of him.
Some beautiful touches too last night![]()
You think he is better playing higher up the pitch?
I think he's better when he is free to play wherever he wants - I think its a waste if he is used at just leading the line a la Mario Gomez.

I just think he's better when he's not alongside another player who wants as many as touches as he does.
It doesn't matter. We had a goal wrongfully deemed offside. Berbatov scored that as well.
It happens against us enough and we're expected to take that as "part of the game", I'm just doing the same now. It happens, we benefited. No big deal.
it was offside, but who cares? It was given, not disallowed so why is this even being debated amongst United fans?
it was offside
thread closed
so what?it was offside
thread closed
so what?
but as he was playing for Manchester United when he scored it, none of us will complain
unless they have some sort of agenda against Berba?
Did he do enough against Benfica to start tomorrow?
It would be harsh to leave him out IMO.
