UEFA Champions League
Wednesday 7th November 2012
Estádio Municipal de Braga
KO: 19:45 GMT
It's going to be that boring away game in Champions League, right?
They usually are. A win and we're through though so hopefully we put out a team to do just that then play a weakened team when we go to Turkey and then finish the group at OT with a win and top the group![]()
That white kit of ours is absolutely sexy
Lindegaard
Valencia Evans Wootton Buttner
Fletcher Powell
Anderson
Nani Hernandez Welbeck
Bench: DeGea, Keane, Cleverley, Giggs, Rooney, RVP, Young
Hopefully smalling is back for this so he can give Rafael a break. Carrick is the only person who can realistically give rio a break right now, considering jones is still out as well.
Hope Powell gets a run out, think he deserves some game time here.
Over Fletcher, Anderson and Scholes?
I hope we play a strong team and win this group.
Need to rest Rafael. Hopefully Smalling is back.
Perfect outcome would be a win then we can see SAF run the youngsters out for some CL and game experience the last two meaningless group games.
Is this not our toughest group game, Braga away? If Smalling is ready to start them I could see resting Rio, but that's about it.
When we played Braga at home we used the diamond, so there has to be a good chance we'll use it again. The line up for the first match was:
De Gea
Rafael Carrick Evans Buttner
Fletcher
Kagawa Cleverley
Rooney
Persie Cheech
Anderson for Kagawa, and perhaps Evra for Buttner or Smalling for Carrick would suit me just fine.
First game this season where I haven't got a clear preference on the line-up.
I suppose I'd like to see us go all-out to win one more game, and then we can bring in some fringe players and kids for the next one. Rest RVP and de Gea, and Rio is Smalling is fit. Give Nani a start but make sure to put the fear of god into him. No strolling around looking dissatisfied with life. Keep a nice first-choice core in midfield though.
Lindegaard
Rafael Smalling Evans Evra
Anderson Carrick Cleverley
Nani Hernandez Rooney
Surely use Smalling to give Rio a break, not Rafael? Rio's a helluva lot more likely to need occasional rests this season than the Brazilian. Plus the most important thing with Rafael is keeping him playing. His form is almost always directly proportional to how much game-time he's getting.
