Bayern München v Manchester United

Our midfield needs to follow their man and make blocks more crucially. We cannot allow lapses like Fellaini's in the home leg.
That worries me even more. Following your man leads to the team getting out of shape. The likes of Robben and Ribery like to move right across the pitch on and off the ball. We could end up with the Barcelona Carousel situation if players try to stick to a man. They have to zone and hand off.

Really hope Kagawa and Welbeck shine in this game.

I have no confidence in Welbeck, and am going to keep saying so, because the more I whinge, the more likely he'll prove me wrong. :)

Delightfully surprised with the line up and not at all sute how it will set itself up!

Feck this is a big occasion isn't it? You can really sense it. Decent team out there, don't have any complaints really. I assume Rafael is injured and that's why he wasn't listening.

I have a feeling he's going to score!

Fellaini cost us a goal by losing his man in the first leg. At least Fletcher contributes more by keeping the ball.
Fellaini can tackle, puts his man under pressure and tracks back, has a forward pass in him and is half decent when he's being pressed. He's not the greatest midfielder but he's light years ahead of Fletcher.

Anybody else hear the sharpening of knives when they entered this thread?
Yes.

Very different to the first game when I was relaxed cause I wasn't expecting anything good. Now though...

I personally think Smalling is in as a set-piece threat..something which Rio doesn't really offer (does he even go up for them?)

Lineup is good. Bayern have a very attacking setup so hopefully we can exploit that on the counter.

If I am being picky I would say Nani should be on the bench instead of Young but that's mainly because Young is shit rather than Nani being someone we need.

The first game has given us hope. And that is a dangerous thing :(

Gary Neville is a red!

Thing of it is, even if Bayern do score first, it doesn't change anything in terms of gameplan; we're chasing a goal either way.
Yes but then we'll probably push forward even more, exposing ourselves and thus giving Bayern enough space to score again and again. It'a a trap we've often fallen victim to over the past years.

He's brilliant on the last man, which is where he'll be...his finishing is the issue, I'm confident that if we get the chances though someone will take them

feckin hell, this guardiola fecker is a shit manager eh? He keeps saying they're gonna try this and try that.

Guardiola to fall on his knees after we beat them 4-0 and shout:
"You were the wrong one Moyes! It was said you are a dinosaur coach, not a football genius! Why did Fergie love you!!!?"
To which Moyes whispers:
"You underestimate my power!"
