United linked with van Gaal in the meeja

That's just wrong, in my opinion. Hitler had an attitude and a strong belief in what he was trying to carry out. Van Gaal is the same, but in a footballing context. The comparison ends there and I made that perfectly clear.

Its not about attitude etc but how they delivered speeches. Hitler would go hysterical in his speeches like some angry person close to break someone else face (in reality he was influenced by many heavy drugs). Mussolini was more composed in his speeches with an almost comical over confidence and who made pauses between one sentence and another to let his words sink in

And I agree fully with the bolded part

Someone lock this thread. Open it until we get new info. This is just going down hill.
You know it's muppet season when you have people calling for threads to be closed until something happens. Never understood this train of thought. If the thread is bothering you then don't come in it.

The comparison of van Gaal and Hitler spiralled out of control fast. Just move on.

That's the thing.

And to be fair they may share similarities because deep down they share the same goal ie to incite the audience in front of them. VG had just won the league and wanted to incite the fans to show their happiness. Mussolini had just declared war to the allies and wanted the Italians to show as much as enthusiasm as possible (many Italians weren't keen to war back then especially since they were siding with the Germans ie WW1 former enemy). Speeches like that are mechanized and practized to the least detail (For example Mussolini used to copy Maciste a popular film figure in Italy at that time inspired by Hercules) which surely doesn't reflect a person's true colours at all.

I'm impressed. The Maciste reference is a good bit of nerdy info. Much like my history digging.

Now back to Van Gaal.

I think you will see I tried to bring the thread back to the thread's original content, several times. Locking threads allows there to be well maintained threads and stop people posting irrelevant things and things that we have already mentioned 6 pages ago etc.

Shit comparison, though. It's like saying Fellaini play like Scholes just because he use feet to pass, shoot and tackle, and also play in midfield. You can even find similarity between Mother Theresa and bin Laden.

To finish the Hitler-Van Gaal comparison I did some research and can prove that VG does NOT have a mustache. Case closed.

There will only be another van Gaal thread where people talk crap. People need to stop hysterically calling for threads to be locked. If you're bored of it don't enter it.

How good a coach is Patrick Kluivert? Wikipedia tells me that he was a small coach with AZ, Brisbane Roars and then he managed FC Twente to the top of the table in the championship. Then he went to the Dutch NT. So apart from his work with the NT, nothing really at the top level. So how good is he? Does he do work just with the strikers or he is an all round coach/assistant? If it comes to that, is it worth it if Giggs has to leave any significant coaching position if we are to get Van Haal and his demand for Patrick Kluivert? PS:I really dont know if he has made any such demands.

It is not about being bored or not. I do not want to enter a thread where people talk shiite and post things that been mentiones on the 2nd page ffs.

There is a difference between lockimg a thread forvever and locking it until more info comes.

Maybe you should ask for a thread ban for yourself.

How so? There is a difference wanting to see posts that are new/informative and regurgitated info. That does not mean I want a 'ban'.

I will stop from now as I am part of this 'problem'.

While i understand you point, still heavy moderating and closing threads is never the way to go, it's the sort of moderation that goes on RAWK and i don't think anyone here wants that approach.

If you wanted it closed a ban should be an acceptable alternative.

What has that got to do with Van Gaal getting linked to the United manager's post? And why are you questioning his links to the Moyes family? Why would he lie about that?
Judging by what you said about rvp I really can't tell if this is serious

This guy is going to walk out of so many press conferences/interviews next season, can't wait. Reporters will genuinely fear asking him questions.

He won't need to ban anyone that's for sure, they will be too scared to show up anyway. I await the first naive reporter who is unaware of how Mr Van Gaal conducts his pressers....

OK, i guess i'm the only one here who saw a very happy man who was celebrating the double (and looking forward to play in the CL final in a week's time) and probably had drunk a couple of beers before picking up the microphone in that video.

I also have to say i'm surprised by the number of physiognomists here, so many people who can spot an authoritarian personality just by watching 2-3 videos, reading 4-5 articles and interviews of some of his former players. Next time we want an opinion on SAF i suggest we ask Keane, Stam and Rooney what they think of him. Or if Pep becomes available we should also over analyze the issue and find him not good enough because of his "megalomania" which was 100% proven when he told Messi and co. that he believes he's as great as Gandhi..... Like we know anything about man management. Journalists will do anything to find a good story, and now that their favorite topic of the season (poor StevieG) has bottled things up, the next United manager is going to monopolize the news.

Back to the football, i couldn't find Rio's whole interview on the net. From what i've heard he wants to stay at the club for at least one more year. If that's true, he should realize that with van Gaal is more likely to get that chance. I don't know any other (available) managers who rate the CBs' ability to create attacking movements from behind as highly as LvG. I believe Rio is clever and understands football better than that.

There are also concerns about Rooney (again), that LvG will make van Persie United's main man and that Rooney will find it difficult to cope with the new status quo within the club. I can't predict the future, but i do know that Rooney has played wherever SAF has told him to play and he is one of the most talented and intelligent players in our squad. I remember him chasing the opposition LB down the corner flag playing as a winger, i also remember him tackling and closing down opponents as a CM and i've seen how much he worked and changed his style and movement to play behind the forward. Plus he's got the new contract he wanted.

If van Gaal decides he wants someone else as captain, then we'll see what happens. But i think he'll have other priorities when he gets here, Young's first touch for example. Which brings me to the matter of assessing the squad. This is one of the main reasons i want LvG to be our next manager. I think he already has a pretty good idea about where the squad needs to be strengthened and which players fit into his plans. And he has a history of not keeping in the squad players when he doesn't have faith in them. We could use this lack of sentimentality right now.

The man has created one of the best football teams ever, he has put AZ on the Dutch football map and he was good enough to become the manager of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and the Netherlands. Are there any other candidates with that CV?

Only just seen the interview where he says, "its a stupid question...stupid question..."

I want him! His interviews could be epic!

'We have not reached that stage yet [of signing a contract],’ said van Gaal.

‘It’s not even clear if we will reach that stage. One has to wait.

‘Some of the things that have been suggested are absolutely untrue.’
