Exactly.
It's as though some posters are incapable of reading between the lines - they just take what's said as gospel; hence all the flip-flopping of moods!
United are clearly approaching this summer's transfer window with a different tact - they're keeping their business under wraps and not making public pronouncements. Has Woody been quoted once this summer? Not that I've seen...
The English press have clearly been briefed that Vidal isn't on our radar - that doesn't mean we are telling the truth. We could be, but football is littered with instances where clubs have been economical with the truth to throw the media off the scent. "Wouldn't sell that mob a virus"...
Finally, Juventus were always going to flex their muscles at yesterday's presser. Losing Conte was a blow, so they were hardly going to follow it up by saying Vidal is for sale - the Juve fans are already up in arms. The way I saw it, they were saying that the club doesn't want to sell and if a deal does happen, it'll be because Vidal forced it. It's a common method for transferring blame from the club to the player.
So, in summary, Vidal might or might not move to United, but press suggestions that he's not on our radar are absurd - there's way too much smoke. Suggestions that we're baulking at the asking prove are also stupid given how much we've spent on Herrera and Shaw.
We go through this roller coaster every time we sign a player, I would've thought - as seasoned muppets - you'd all be used to it by now!
