What Now For Moyes?

good luck. was never good enough to be the manager of Manchester United obviously but i wish him all the best. will definitely look out for their results from time to time.

Good luck to him. That's his level and I hope he does well there. He has the ability to.

Will no doubt turn them into a Pulis Stoke side.

I wish him good luck though, would love to face him in the Europa League in years to come.

I couldn't care less how he does, and I don't know why any Manchester United fan would. And that's not even because of his tenure, it's because - well, again, why would you? He's a sunk cost, there's no emotional linkage between him and United.

Is everyone one trying to prove how nice they are?

Yess Moyesy. He wasn't good enough for us but I hope he does well for them.

I think that Moyes was clearly out of his depth. It's not like he didn't try. Don't get me wrong, the guy pissed me off but I've got nothing against the guy. He gave his all but unfortunately he simply just wasn't good enough for us.

And that's fair enough, but why are people rushing to this thread to demonstrate their, I don't know, virtuousness or something? Seems insincere, not to mention pointless.

Good luck to him, there won't be as much pressure as there was at United so I think he'll do fine.

There'll still be a lot of pressure though given their current predicament - 19th with just six points from 10 games (likely to be six points from 11 tomorrow as they host Atleti). Still, he'll have a fortnight while international break is going on to bed in and their next two fixtures after tomorrow are against clubs around them so if they win those they'll be getting there.

With the players they have it is pretty shocking that they are where they are. I'm assuming they don't have a Basque only policy given some of the players they've got on their books?

Ah feck him, I hope it goes shit and he gets sacked.

At least you're starting to realise your level now too.

Best of luck to him. I'm actually surprised - I thought he'd wait and stick it out for a job like Newcastle or Villa in the PL, but respect to him for having some ambition and going abroad. I'm not sure that him or his style are going to be suited to La Liga and it might be a bit of a culture shock for him, but could be a chance for him to partly restore the reputation he built at Everton.

Screw Moyes, all he done since leaving the club is talk shit about the club and his surprise of the lack of time and resources he was afforded....good riddance.

In fairness he's hardly done a Keano on us.
We probably owe him the Shaw transfer, so thats one tiny thing we should be grateful to him for.

What did you expect him to say really? He was sacked and his reputation tarnished.

I really wish his all the best. Would really love it, really love it if he does well there. Maybe top 4 behind real, barca and atletico at the very best.

I thought fergie was keeping tabs on shaw since he was 16?
Not to mention that Herrera was on our radar for years as well.

I don't think we owe Moyes anything, he got a massive payday when he was let go and that was enough.
He is like one of those CEO's who ran their company into the ground but still managed to get a bonus payment.

I don't wish ill on him, but I don't want to wish him good luck either....mostly I am relieved he isn't out manger anymore, last year was a nightmare.

On the Shaw thing, yea both had been on our radar, still, so had Hazard and so many others under Sir Alex and yet we failed to bring them in when push came to shove,
At least Moyesy (from all accounts) had Shaw basically arranged, signed and sealed with his family behind the scenes by Christmas last year, so when Chelsea came knocking in the summer it was already too late for them. :D
For me, that and blooding Januzaj are more or less the only two positives in his time here.

Perhaps Moyes got those two things right...but in the same token he was after Cesc and bale all last transfer window and we know how that turned out...there is no guarantee what shaw would have come to us in the end. I think LVG is a real draw for the players, especially after the World Cup he had.

Moyes will be named Real Sociedad manager tomorrow after their game at home to Atletí.

Good luck to him. I hope he is a great success out there.

Its been said in other threads he needed to go abroad. I don't get that at all. If he can't get his ideas across to Rio (and Vidic) how on earth is he going to do it a person with a different first language? I think this has disaster written all over it. Even though he set us back years I do wish him well.

I think it's probably more due to the lack of pressure. He takes over a PL side and everyone's watching him, any small error and he's getting ridiculed. He's tainted in England right now. Not a bad manager but like Steve McClaren going abroad (maybe he shouldn't have come back) is probably the best thing for him now. He can do a job without ridiculous pressure on him.

19th and they will probably lose tomorrow.

His stint with us hasn't really done much for him then. I mean, taking over a relegation threatened team? Surely he could have got a better job than that if he had stayed at Everton and not been with us at all.

I get that part but how on earth will he get his ideas across? Also, more importantly can RS afford Fellaini?

Hmm, strange decision. Sociedad are shit and very likely they'll get relegated this season, which will practically end any chance for Moyes to manage again on top level (not that the chace was that high anyway). If they don't relegated, his stock might increase a bit, but still. I see it a lose-lose situation for him to be fair.

50/50 chance of it working out for me. Could easily be a complete disaster for him.

Best of luck and all that.

Whats happened to them? They were in the CL last season. Talk about a fall from grace.

Another person who hasn't followed Everton or Moyes for the past decade. Comparing his style to that Stoke side is like saying we play Tikki Taka. And good luck to Moyes. Was very unlucky here.

Well, Real Sociedad were 7th last season, and 4th the one before. They are doing poorly due to losing a couple key players, namely Bravo and Griezmann. Bravo bailed them out so much in the past years, and their current keeper is very average, in my opinion.
At a least they still have good players like Vela and Canales. Get the defense to not be so shit and they could finish the season mid table. There's a lot of shit teams in La Liga, at a least 6 teams are worse than them.

Good luck to him. Good to see any British manager test themselves abroad.
