No shit, but that's not limited to staying at Madrid.
You just said he's happy with one of each trophy in 6 years. That's a shocking attitude which he doesn't have.

So where would he go given you think he's bound to leave soon?

Well considering he stayed at United for 6 years and also won every trophy, there would be a good precedent for him to leave Madrid for another club at some point.

Madrid were a step up for him. He has nowhere to go but downwards after that. It's in both parties interest to stay together when it's working so well for both.

They weren't really a step up though - just another massive club in another big league where he always wanted to play. He's done that now, so he could easily move elsewhere, especially if Madrid's fickle fans start booing him more.

For him they were definitely a step up. They were the mighty Real Madrid where he was acheing to go. Where we couldn't keep him from going. He scored more goals with them than he did for us. He won't be able to achieve those numbers elsewhere so while he stopped to up at madrid with relation to United - both in terms of goals and his own personal opinion of the clubs - that's won't be the case after madrid. He'd score less goals and the club would most likely be smaller for him.

Same for the club. They wouldn't find another goalscorer for him.

I don't see it happening for another few years when his level falls away unless something drastic happens.

It didn't take anything drastic to happen for him to want to move from United to Madrid, and it won't take anything more for him to leave Madrid, than a desire to move to another club. He calls the shots and can leave whenever he wants, and if the fans are going to get fickle and boo him, or if he falls out with Perez or a few players, he will certainly move on.

It literally looked like he stopped trying once he got his name on the scoresheet.

Only positive I can give him is I thought he did really well not to react when Mascherano tried to get him sent off, I'd have been itching to burst his face

As I already said, that's because it was a step up for him and hence the club he was drying to to go to.

If goals are what he cares about he'd be daft to leave madrid.

Its not about perpetual step ups, its about a combination of factors including seeking success in different places, living in a new country, increasing his brand (for Ronaldo only), chasing trophies in another country (doing in 3 countries is better than 2) etc.

I've always seen Ronaldo as obsessed with personal glory which is why I'm saying what I am. For any other player what you say makes sense. Romaldo has all these personal awards at the very top of his ambition list. Moving to us, for example, would make no logical sense in respect to that. Crazier things happened though.

It really didn't look that way to me. Real's midfield lost control of the game and service dried up. Modric tired after coming back from injury and Kroos just started playing crap.

no, i was blaming Ronaldo dissapearing in the second half

you are trying to make a comparison between two players

No, I was trying to illustrate the frailty of your point on Ronaldo by drawing what I perceived to be an apt comparison from the same game.

I am not interested in the Messi vs Ronaldo thing. Messi is better for me but I love Ronaldo for his career at United.

as i was saying, ronaldo could have helped in the middle, try to change things up, but he decided to do his magic

you know, when the magician dissapears?

So if he leaves this or next summer, where will he go? Oh and pls don't say United.

It seems his antics are getting worse and so are his performances.

And we all know how ruthless Perez can be. Ronaldo's antics can only be tolerated on the bases of constantly great performances over a whole season which he has given RM every season since joining them. But if he can't keep them on and doesn't bother to help the team out instead either, then Perez won't bother with him sooner rather than later (unless of course his market value stands in the way of selling him).

hope sir alex will be around his ears to get him back at OT. i know it is a long shot though.

if he comes back here and get us back to winning ways obviously he cemented his status here as a cult hero.

I think there was a Sports Illustrated article in the past week saying he'll go to MLS after his contract is up in 2018. Makes sense.

Unfortunately, this. I think this attitude is what has made me jump ship from the Ronaldo-boat to another boat, of Argentinian origin. He's so petulant and whether it's true or not, has the aura that he only cares about his accomplishments rather than the teams.

2nd Half Real totally lost control of the game. Kroos was abysmal second half - can't understand why people are blaming Ronaldo for that.

i'm not blaming him for kroos being abysmal, i'm just saying that when modric and kroos stoped delivering ronaldo didnt help
he used to do it when he was with us, positioning himself a bit lower to hel in the middle and starting his attacks from there

that's something he didnt do yesterday

Hasn't done that for ages. He simply takes very little responsibility in the buildup. He's basically pretty much a striker. A brilliant one of course.

i know, but he is playing the clasico, he scored a brilliant goal, his team is sinking because the midfielders cant touch the ball, just go down ten yards and help

before we all forget:

Messi was totally anonymous when Real's midfield were running the game. Why didn't he do something to change it?

His cross made the first goal...

Barca were not getting the ball to him first half, in the second half he moved a little inside and started to get the ball more.

What's the problem with this? As far as I could see there was quite a lot of diving (probably worse) from Barcelona and Neymar in particular.

the problem is quite obvious

he dived

again

Can't believe United fans wouldn't have him back, so what if he has an ego, I'd take him back in a shot he will still easily score 25+ goals a season. I'd love him to do that in a United shirt again.

Thing with ronaldo is he does seem to have genuine respect for United. Should he decide to leave madrid I'm almost certain he won't play for anyone else but us.
