I love this idea that we're so stacked, and in such a good position, that some of you would turn your nose up at Sergio Ramos.

I mean, its not like one of our starting centre backs right now is Phil Jones. Oh no, wait a minute...

75M euros, plus De Gea and 12M wages a year. That's crazy!!

75 million and De Gea? I fecking hate the transfer window, it's ridiculous. These people aren't even trying anymore.

So £50 million and De Gea!!!! Basically the only way this will happen is if United have basically put aside the Adidas money this year, and taken into account the extra PL and CL revenue due to the new deals.

Jones is actually good are we still doing that thing where we call him crap because he is aggressive and makes weird faces.

Don't take those tweets seriously. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but €75m+DDG would be a new world record in stupidity. Nice joke twitter journos.

This is like Depay all over again. 75m euros including the value of David De Gea becomes 75m pounds sterling plus De Gea as an add on faster than you can say 'lost in translation'.

Either way it's still batshit mental.

Quite possible imo £75 m Adidas, £50 m CL, and £40-£50 extra PL (2016) makes about £160-£170 million, this could easily be out gross spend this summer.

The Ramos offer though is BS.

This is my favourite element of this site; someone dares to express an opinion in a well constructed manner and gets absolutely slaughtered for it in this way. Great stuff.
He was talking shite. He wants us to buy players before they are stars and complains that we bought players before they were stars and it didn't work out. That's the nature of the business. He complains that we didn't offer De Gea a new contract sooner but complains that somebody like Hernandez is overpaid. The reason for that being he was given a new contract when he was playing well. Basically he just expects everything to be perfect. It was a horrible post.

At least we have done our job to create drama in Florentino land, 40m euro + de Gea sounds like alot for a 29 year old though. But anyways, it's not my money and apparently the club has loads of it + Ramos is a quality centerback and one of the best CB's with the ball at feet.

LvG would probably love him.

In the radio they are saying that Madrid is not going to say a word. If United makes an offer they will demand a lot of money. They will wait until Ramos says publicly, without spokesman , that he wants to go, if that happens they will start to negociate, so, the club wants that he is the greedy and traitor in front of all the country. In the other hand, the neutral press considers that the amount that he demands is totally out of place.

Ramos is outstanding but, let us not act like he is the perfect defender. He has had plenty of shitshows in the Madrid white.
I can not justify the fee, but in support for Ramos's Real Madrid displays, they don't exactly favour a style that makes life easy for their defenders.

That was so obvious, Perez would have stopped it a long time ago if he wasn't playing with Ramos, he is throwing him under the bus.

I wouldn't be surprised if that supposed 75m fee is DDG's 'value', the actual fee + wages all throne together to make it sound like an incredible deal for Madrid.

I mean, thats what their press specialise in.

They did exactly that, because they are all including Ramos potential wage during 5 years but they don't do the same with De Gea's, as if he was playing for free.

One of the most ridiculous things I've read on here.

Put it in context of the conversation and dont quote a random comment.

That comment is about squad players in the base XI. Not in your 25 man squad. Ofc you need squad players on the bench. But you absolutely do not need them in your base XI. Having a squad player in your base XI is purely because for some reason you couldn't find any better due money, availability etc.

Valencia for example would have been a fine squad player as a backup for a right-winger, or when we have the lead and need more defensive strength or as a backup RB.

Whats not fine is having this type of player (quality wise) in your XI every week for the past 6 years.

People forget Valencia was not always what he is now. His first three seasons at the club there was few wingers better than him. Not the trickiest but, he was leaving every LB in his dust.

I disagree. We'd never have won the league that year if we were that poor. Moyes also made every player except DDG and Rooney look four times worse than they ever did under SAF.

Lets not discuss the good old 2012/2013 issue, because thats gonna be another 20 pages. I will flame the play style, you would defend it and call it tradition, i will say the competition got stronger, you will call it bs etc :P

Theres definietly something in this, just not sure if we would get him.

And it should repeated again 75m euros is inclusive of his wages.

In all 2 of those 3 seasons Nani was far superior, in 1 of those seasons (valencia's best) it wasn't even more than 1 assist or goal off if remember correct.

The difference is we expected Nani to become the next Ronaldo, and we expected Valencia to be a bad signing.

*edit

i found the stats of his (the praised one) best season compared to Nani (the flamed one) that same season:

See the biased opinions? Why do we always hear that Valencia had a great seasons, yet Nani was labeled as "inconsistent".

So around £25m and De Gea, if we say De Gea's worth about £25m too, and £230k/week contract...

I think I'd really rather keep De Gea for a year, lose him on a free, and spend £35m on Otamendi.
