The BBC are running this story as a United headline at the moment.....

But they're not quoting sources, which is unlike the BBC. Usually they don't run stories unless it's factual. Or maybe I'm behind, and the club have explained that they want Ramos as part of the De Gea deal.
Personally I don't think United want Ramos at all, or the club is simply using the Ramos situation (he wants more money) to destabilize the De Gea situation, and for Van Gaal and Ed Woodward to flex United's muscles as a statement explaining that Real can't simply pinch our players when they feel like it.
Bale is obviously the player United want, not Ramos.
Ramos wouldn't last 5 minutes in the Premier league, and there's no way he'd want to quit Madrid for Manchester. I'd be interested to know where the BBC are getting their info from, seeing as Real haven't actually approached United for De Gea yet. No bid has been submitted.
