Will Spurs finish in the top four in the upcoming season?

I don't expect us to be defensive at all.
If we weren't defensive away to Chelsea or Arsenal then why should we shut up shop v Spurs?
If you actually look at the Arsenal match, we pressed high and piled forward when we won the ball. We only eased off after going 2-0 up.
If anything, Poch should analyse those opening 15 rather than the subsequent 75 minutes if he thinks that match has any indicators as to how we'll set up.

I think he has done when he's not had the personnel, but Sanchez is almost a defender up there as well the way he presses and I expect to play pretty similar to the way we played against Arsenal. Plus I think your defence is probably at it's weakest at the moment without Toby and I'm not fully convinced by either Aurier or Trippier yet.
 
1. Hope we absolutely destroy spurs tomorrow. They need to be knocked down a few pegs, and front to back we have a much better team.

2. Has anyone answered the question as to why the “rewards” of the new spurs stadium would be any different to the “rewards” the Emirates brought arsenal?

Well their board seem intent to keep the rewards to themselves and not develop the club, while I think Levy wants it to be the best club possible.

I likewise hope we destroy you and grind your team's bones to dust. :lol:

Mate, with all due respect, this is just wrong. We were third in the top 6 mini league last season, ahead of arsenal and the two Manchester clubs. We don't have a good record away at the other top 6 clubs but at home, we won all but one of the five matches last season (we drew the fifth one).

Season before that I can't find a table specifically for that season but we picked up 15 points from the top 6 games, having only lost one of the ten games home or away.

We again did not lose one of those games at home. Seeing as 15 points was the amount for 3rd in that mini league last season, probably fair to say it was similar the season before.

Incidentally, I completely agree with what you say about Poch. Great manager, has done a great job with us but hasn't proven enough to manage at Real and, truth be told, I think he'd be eaten alive at real if he went there this season.

I was referring to this season in which they have been quite poor against the top 6. The Wembley factor playing a significant part in this clearly.

Poch is clearly a talented manager, I mean his work with Spurs over the last few years has been outstanding, but he hasn't won anything as of yet. If Real were to offer him the job, which I sincerely doubt will happen, it would be nothing more than a wild punt.

I know Zizou was relatively unproven when offered the the job but he at least had experience within the club before taking up the hotseat - from player to assistant manager to youth team coach and finally to the boss outright.

I'm sure Real will want a proven winner as their next coach, as to whom that may be is up for debate but I have a sneaky feeling they will offer it to Blanc.

Fair play to them, they are a great side to watch and hard to beat away from home.
 
Have to give Pochettino a lot of credit. Kane played really well but Poch's tactics and the fact that every Spurs player was on top of their game had them inspired.

Unfortunately they're probably all knackered now for the Scouse game!

Thought Kane was their worst player. Dembele was a class act.

Good.

- He can play on the left or right wing.
- The style of players who can be a super sub if required.
- He will boost the competition within the squad
- More options for the coach in case of injuries.
- He's very fresh given the fact he didn't play a lot
- The price is decent

I won't oversell him but I don't see the cons
 
Credit where credit is due, took it to us from the first second. The contrast between Kane and lukaku today, SMH. The decision making all over the pitch was abysmal from us, you ran rings round us all game.

I'm just glad we had a bit of a cushion before this game.

Oh. And Dele Alli is still a c*nt. :)

Kane did fine even if you want to argue the semantics of him their best worst player which wouldn't say much. Had to play a big role in first goal and had our centre halves worried all night. Those jitters at the back probably lead to Jones's ineptitude over the own goal. When I was referring to Kane, I was thinking more of Guardiola's comments that they are a one man team, which they showed tonight isn't the case. They bossed the midfield but we had an open one.

Hmm, his midfield was terrific and even that twat Alli was having a very good game.
 
Be nice if they put the same effort and performance in on Saturday against the Scouse....but fancy it’s another team who treat us as their Cup Final
 
Could easily have been 5 or 6. Is it possible for a team to be rampant without scoring? If so that was Spurs in the second half.
 
Eriksen is confortably world class now, knows when to keep it simple, has a passing range up there with De Bruyne, can dribble and scores plenty of goals. On another planet to every United player tonight.
