The arrogance/ineptitude/naïveté of this German team to continue playing with those giant holes at the back. It was evident after just a few minutes against Mexico that they were extremely vulnerable down the flanks once their full backs pushed up, yet they did absolutely nothing to fix it, and they still haven't.
Unforgivable at this level, and especially from a coach with as much experience as Löw has. They deserve to go home based on their performance so far.

Germany looks structurally imbalanced but in both their games they have been decent.

Madrid looked as shite as Germany now when they were playing with Kroos and Modric in 2 men midfield. If there's one player that you can say he's clueless in 2 men midfield because of his physical abilities, it's Kroos. He can't do the dirty work and cover all these spaces, not that fast actually.

He’s not. He plays on the left of a 3 man midfield at Madrid or along Casemiro I’d they go with 4 midfielders. But he always has a more defensive midfielder behind him.
No, he controls the midfield with the ball but he isn't an holding midfielder. He doesn't have the defensive nous or athletic ability to cover laterally.
We're used to getting plenty of teams with no idea how to organize themselves defensively, it's a lot different this time around.

It’s been like that at most world cups in my memory. It’s far easier to set up a decent defending side in short time than actual attacking play. That’s the nature of national teams.

Gomez for Draxler is a needed change. Might be too late though, because Sweden do not have to leave their box for the rest of the game.

Well, they can, because Low is tactically inept. It's not underperformance from their players. They basically play with 2 defenders, no defensive mids and then the rest attackers. Theyll have chances and they can turn this around obviously but its still a mistake from the manager as they are so open at the back
