Sums up our season so far really, in regards to performance.
Started the game poorly. However, Bournemouth were very good in the first half. Our team couldn't live with their quick, interchanging movement. It was inevitable that they were going to grab a goal, which they did, and were unlucky not to be three or four up in the first 30 minutes.
Last 15 minutes of the half, we started to get on the ball and conjured up a couple of chances, one coming for the in form Martial, who made it 1-1.
Second half, as has been the theme so often this season, was much better. The introduction of Rashford and Herrera made a difference. Herrera added a much needed stability and calmness on the ball, whilst Rashford's enthusiasm and running off the ball gave Bournemouth's back line a lot to think about.
Think the change of system also made a difference. Mourinho seemed to go with more of a 4222, leaving Matic and Herrera to sit in front of the back four, whilst the front quartet, along with our full backs, ran riot.
Collectively, we played at a much quicker tempo and created a number of chances, and although leaving it late, managed to get the winner, courtesy of Rashford, who apart from his missed chances, had a massive impact in the game.
Bournemouth, regardless of form, was always going to be a tough game.
All in all, I think the result was the main thing, and a win today puts us two points behind top four, with Arsenal hosting Liverpool later on today.
