Excellent

Oh. I can post in here again!
I liked the final season a lot. Preferred it to season 7 (which I enjoyed anyway) but not to any other season. That was enough for me. Reached all the conclusions a little quicker than I expected, and a little too quickly for their full emotional weight to be felt, but heck I was thoroughly entertained and I still got emotional. I'm not sure it ever could have ended in a way that satisfied everybody, or even in a way that ticked all the boxes I wanted it to. I think it simply grew so large in both scale and popularity that it almost broke the people involved, so fair play to them for pulling off such an unexpected last stretch that still made sense in relation to the rest of the story.
The last two seasons were a step down from the first six, but not by much. The first six seasons batted at a 9.5/10 average, the last two seasons were more of an 8/10. That's still great overall. It's a shame the sixth book wasn't published by the time the show caught up - that way we could have had an ending without all the questions about what's going to happen, what is and isn't in GRRM's plans, etc. In the end I think it affected how I felt about the fan community, which I used to love being part of. In the end I just grew tired of talking about the show, of listening to people talk about it, because for years now it's just been increasing negativity from people who kept saying they'd "given up" on the show but carried on hate-watching.
If the books ever finish (which I honestly doubt they will) I imagine we'll get an animated adaptation that'll stick closer to the books, and with the spin-off show coming I have a feeling this is more of a beginning for the franchise than an end. This is such a massive universe that any stories could conceivably be written into it. Hell, they could make an entire show based on events in Ulthos that we've never seen. Can't imagine future shows in this world will command quite the same size of audience, but they'll have a cult following - I love this world and I can't wait for new content from it, even if the characters aren't the same.
Now it's all over, for the sixth or seventh time for me, I'd rank the seasons: (best) 4, 1, 3, 6, 2, 5, 8, 7 (worst).

Didn't know I could post in here again, so I did. That's all. It's hardly a dead thread - the last post before mine was earlier today?Really, you are still doing this?

Huh. All I said was that I liked the last season even though it wasn't quite as good as the first six and that we might get another adaptation in the future if the books ever get completed. I don't really know what's borrowed about any of that. Judging by the general reaction to the final season I'd my thoughts on it were the opposite of borrowed.Oh. I can post in here again!
Followed by a long post of whatever, I didn't bother reading it.
You really will never learn your lesson, there were plenty more people reading those leaks and yet none managed to be as blatant as you. And instead of just bowing out gracefully, you continue to post your borrowed thoughts as if you came up with them yourself. I mean, I even repeatedly told you via PM that you were obvious, yet you still acted innocent.
You tried to ruin this show for others, and despite warnings of what you were doing, you still did it anyway. Again you aren't the only one, but you are by far the most obviously stupid one.

I guess you missed all my posts in here in May, then. I'm not sure what you think I "continue to do" either. You are delusional. Truly, you don't seem to understand what you did and continue to do.
But the show is over, all the best.
He was busy warging into welsh sheep.I guess you missed all my posts in here in May, then.
Robin is a true villain. Like Bran.
pretending everything was for the good of the people. But clearly his
'oh i can post in here again' is the equivalent of 'Why do you think i came all this way'

I still can't believe the horse wasn't Jaqen.
The funniest thing is I dared show my missus this thread and she actually did arrange plans to go to her mum's for the week if I was right. I kid you not, in real life it was discussed.
I'm still not sure how to take it. I think I'm an actual idiot.

I'm not touching that one
.don't worry, my gf thought the horse was sent by him or he had something to do with it...
Wouldn't that actually make more sense though???
I can't be the only one that loved Jaqen the horse and figured the end of Arya's arc would involve the god that made her!

Read that they've submitted the finale for the "best writing" Emmy.
The gall...

Jon fighting the Nice King (who’s an actual sword master in real life) with his valyrian sword and Arya killing Cersei with a face and thus playing into the prophecy would’ve made too much sense. As would bringing back Kinvara to converse more with Varys in his last days about the voice in the flames and fill the vacant hot red priestess role.I'm most likely forgetting something as I wasn't particularly obsessive with details in this show but it felt like the whole faceless thing was massively under utilised in the end.
Having Jaqen feature in some way or Arya wearing another face to kill Cersei (and have someone else kill the NK) would have been more impactful imo.

I mean are D&D really writers? It's hard to believe they got paid to write this![]()
His talents eventually won them over, however, leading him to become a go-to director for the pair. That said, “The Long Night” was nevertheless a rough shoot, and the director details its arduous creation on the podcast, saying that there was a lingering fear that it would end up being “a remix of every battle we’d ever done.”
He also says he argued with Benioff and Weiss over the battle’s dearth of impactful deaths. “I wanted to kill everyone,” he says in news that really makes us wish he were running the show. “I wanted to kill Jorah in the horse charge at the beginning. I wanted it to be ruthless, so in the first 10 minutes you could say all bets are off, anyone could die. But David and Dan didn’t want to. There was a lot of back and forth on that.” Sapochnick says he eventually relented because “there comes a point when they dig in and you just don’t want to be there.”

Really feel as if the title of this thread should be “Our watch has ended” it’s bugged me for a few weeks now and I thought I could live with it but every time I see it I just want to rip out my eyes.
I would say both but I only watched the finale once and will probably never watch it again.Do you mean the thread or the final episode?
Quotes from Sapochnik on the difficulty of working with Weiss and Benioff. His plan for the long night sounded so much better...
What could've been. Instead we had Sam crying and pissing himself on a pile of dead bodies in the middle of battle but somehow surviving.
Pair of fecking cocks, D&D!
