Rooney unfortunately has cheated the fans,the same fans that chanted his name on saturday, How would you feel as a player knowing (as they would) that he wanted out, yet the fans were chanting for him to replace one of them? That is why as Sir Alex said "he didnt want a repeat of saturday" So that is the reason why he gave the interview today.
Notice the similarities to when he left Everton ? he said he had fallen out with David moyes ,later confirmed as not true due to David Moyes suing him and lo and behold The papers are saying hes fell out with Fergie,Change the record wayne!
Maybe this is what the players wanted as well maybe he has split the dressing room ? Some of our players may not be as gifted as Rooney or have the same opportunities in life, but they have the chance now to do something i hope he never has ever again.

If he goes to City, I certainly hope the club holds out for Hart and perhaps another attacking player, like Adebayor (not my preferred), Silva (doubtful but my preferred), Ballotelli (nah), Tevez (hmmm) on top of the mega millions going in exchange.
I know your thinking along the lines of Best there, but Best had alcohol problems which started his decline. Rooney however is much younger and is influenced seemingly by money and stupidity. Rooney will never grace that list, whats sad is I really thought he would.

Wow, I actually agree with Green. He says that if it's true that Rooney wasn't happy with how the quality of the squad was, he owes it to the club to be the focal point and make it better, not leave and make it worse.
NO one knows the reason, it would be more understandble if it was this or he wants to move abroad from the press. Forgetting Rooney for a second the Glazers have partly created this issue, his contract should have been settled months ago and the lack of squad investment must concern our players.
