Manchester United vs. Everton

I don't think Berbatov will start another game till Blackburn away now.

There's some serious weak points in our team today - Both central midfielders are dreadfully out of form and Evans' good performances this season are limited to a handfull.

Does Cahill play for Everton?

So no Hargreaves, Berbatov, Smalling, Park, Vidic, Scholes or Fletcher.

Park, Vidic and Scholes all to start on Tuesday I reckon, potentially Smalling too?

Vida and rio for Tuesday!

Hm, quite surprised at that I have to say, I don't see the point in leaving players out. Should still be enough to beat Everton, but I'd have rather done it with as much comfort as possible.

In the two weeks after this match we have to play Arsenal and Chelsea, and both legs of a Champions League Semi Final, the point of leaving players out is to make sure as many of our players as possible are fresh for those games.

A centre partnership of Anderson and Gibbo doesn't inspire confidence, that said, the front 4 is world class through and through.

Scholes suspended, Fletcher still down with virus, Carrick himself has been out of form, we don't have much of a choice do we....

I understand the reason for rotation, but when there is an increased chance of shooting yourself in the foot it's nervy. I mean planning for Arsenal and Chelsea is all well and good, but we need 3 points here too.

Central midfield makes sense for me, everyone else is out barring Carrick who has played a lot recently and been our form midfielder, we need him fresh.

Hmmm. Interesting.

I'll hold my judgement till after the game.

These days Evans is a worry. On form he's a beast but off form he's a liability. One of your better games please Jonny.

Carrick might be out of form but he provides some defensive solidity. Without him our midfield will be in trouble and you feel Fabio, Rio and Evans in defense will need some protection.

I think with Gibson though, is that he's fresh. Anderson looks rusty after coming back from injury, Fletch still isn't ready, Scholes is banned and Carrick has played a lot lately. Our midfield is bare enough as it is, and you don't want Carrick becoming fatigued after playing so much.

Gibson is fresh legs, so we'll see.

No league win at OT for Everton since 1992
Hate stats like that

For all the people doubting Evans, do you not remember the class this boy has exuded over the past 2 years? A poor patch of form doesn't change that. Form is temporary, class is permenant, and Evans has proven himself as a class act in the past and he'll be a big MUFC player of the future.

Our top players are going to miss matches anyway, I'd rather it was through Ferguson prioritizing matches rather than through injuries or burnout.

Worrying midfield, both are inconsistent and I don't trust Gibson all that much in a 2 man midfield BUT at the same time there's the potential there to work as well.

That front 4 will annihilate them though, surely.

Is Vidic getting a rest then? Strange one that, though he does play an awful lot. Glad to see Evra rested and Fabio getting a run out.

Evans to show that he's still a class young center back.

I find it weird to rest Vidic in this esp. if Cahill plays (I see he's on the bench now), hope Rio and Evans can handle him.

Why does SAF keep doing this. For me it's clear CL seems to be his priority.

Bit strange that Vidic and Smalling are both not on the bench, Smalling injured perhaps? Can't see any reason he'd be rested seeing as Rio will surely play ahead of him on Tuesday anyway...

Evans plays really well when next to Rio. Rio leads him well.

The team should be good enough to win at home. Im not that worried as I expect us to have around 70% of the ball.

Lets do this !!

This! people are being way too harsh on him. Against Liverpool at home he would have been mom but for Berbatov's hat trick.

Good - we are undefeated when Rio has started in any competition this season.

expect that game in the FA Cup.
