No I think we all understand international relationships are difficult, and never as black and white as we would like it to be.
Countries have to form all kinds of partnerships, and no nation is completely altruistic in it's dealing with the world, everyone has an angle. That's fair enough.
But Joe Biden could have pretended to pay lip service to the ideals of democracy. But he didn't even think that was necessary, straight up, no, he's not a dictator.

- additionally all othe rregional governments get jumpy, accuse the US of meddling, clam down harder on their societies
- if they do nothing they get castigated for not supporting the people's democratic will

The US are in a delicate position:
- if they support the protests which then fail, they piss off Egypt, an important ally in the region

Well about fecking time, I don't understand how anyone can serve these armies, I could never oppress my own friends and family.Supposedly parts of the army have sided with the protesters, this could get even more interesting!

Have the Foreign Office released a statement of any sort? I know the State Department have....
