he is that important that Moyes played |Evra twice in the space of 48 hours.
:)

Ok maybe not in the PL ,but we are still involved in all cup competitions and Evra will need his rest here and there.

How much did we pay for him and how much do you think he will fetch in the Jan window?

The tattoos alone must be worth a couple of mill....work of art!

Would you like to buy Buttner? I mean I know you're dead and everything, but surely you have enough of a nest egg to help us in our time of need.

Nah, those tattoos are not my style, more east than west coast....btw who said i'm dead-hangin out with Pac & Bigge right now.

His crossing is his best asset. In every game this season, he has put in at least one great cross.

He has put in more good crosses this game than I can remember from our wingers all season.

Still would prefer Fabio though.

Better than Evra going forward and right now there's nothing in it as far as defending goes. Neither are any good at it.

Why can't people just come to terms with the fact he's a good player. It's starting to annoy me, he's had a few defensive mistakes but he's learning the LB role all the time. He deserves his place ahead of Fabio without a doubt.

I would just like to have Fabio given a chance so we can see for ourselves who is the better player. If Fabio had a few games and failed to perform I don't think anyone would be so annoyed at Buttners inclusion.

And I do agree that most fans have an overly negative view on Buttner as a result.

BBC Twitter feed days;
Matt Chapman: Alexander Buttner will be a top, top full-back. Would play him in front of Evra already. Brilliant cross.

He's the worst left back we've had in well over a decade.

Because he clearly isn't a good player. Must pinch himself every day at the thought of playing for Man Utd.

Great cross for the goal, the rest have been decent to woeful. Woeful freekick too. He's like a really shit Kolarov

A mixed half. Some superb crosses, especially the one for the goal, and some woeful efforts too. His freekick wasn't too clever.

Oh come on now. Yes he can hit a nice cross and his step overs are fun, but he's an awful footballer.

The one at the far post was brilliant - not his fault that noone was attacking that space

It was 2 yards too high for a winger getting into the box. Sure if Valencia hadnt got in there properly it would have landed for him to have another go at crossing it, but the aim should have been to get it the right height so he can have an effort on goal, not control the cross and have to cross it again

More good crosses than bad, but his runs haven't been much better than what Evra has accomplished this season. Both have the same defensive capabilities, which is almost non-existent.

Give me a break, he's a good player - maybe not good enough to start regularly for us but a good player none the less. I don't see how Evra could have been an improvement today so far.

The same Evra we're trying to replace?

I don't see why you have to bring up Evra. I didn't say Buttner shouldn't have played, just that he's an average player. Scoring a hat trick in the second half wouldn't change it.

I'd be happy for him to start over Evra in more games. If he doesn't push on and perform consistently then sign the inevitable replacement. I'm just willing to give him a chance.

The guys really not good. Today he put in some good crosses fair enough, but first and foremost he's a defender and he's the worst I've seen at the club.

Well surely if he plays better than Evra he shows he deserves a run at LB? A hat trick won't change people's perceptions of him but a few consistently good games might. I think he deserves to start the next game if he continues to play well today.

I actually agree with that, Evra is in such a bad form that Buttner will deserve to start ahead of him but only if he plays a lot better.

Weird time to have a go at Büttner. Our most productive player in this game. Welbeck was anonymous, Hernandez was faulty, Cleverley and Kagawa did extremely little and the Valencia-Smalling partnership is still useless. Büttner did better than all of them.

Agree, he defended well all game and made a great assist. His tackle when Bony was trough was great as well.

He's had plenty now and isnt good enough.
